I'm really looking forward to seeing Greenway's schedule. In addition to playing Rapids and Marshall they will also play St. Paul Academy. Clafton wanted to upgrade the schedule and sure looks like that is what is happening.

That is one lousy home schedule for Rapids. All of the quality opponents are away games except for Moorhead. Looks like I'll only see Rapids a couple of times this upcoming season. It will be a challenge just to avoid 10 losses.

I didn't mean to imply that Klatt was soft, but Greenway parents (hard to believe) are easier to deal with than the Rapids parents. What little I know of Klatt I wouldn't presume he was soft. He did a great job getting Rapids to state and third place, I would find it hard to second guess him.

Good luck to whoever takes that job. They are going to need it. Three good guys in the last five years have quit.

Clafton has told the Greenway AD that he is not interested in the Rapids. Hope that doesn't change.

Schwan's Cup 2016

Hockey Hub has the team assignments for the 2016 Schwan's Cup. Greenway moves up to the Bronze Division with Blake, Bloomington Kennedy, Cambridge, Hudson, Minneapolis and Rogers.

My big concern is that Rapids ends up hiring Clafton away from Greenway.

The sections are fine they way they are. The goal of section assignment is not to make them "balanced". Sections are and should be based on geography. One of the the good things about geographical sections is that it helps hockey grow in nontraditional sections of the state. Southwest Minnesota in p...

More suspensions at Rapids?

Heard that additional members of the Rapids hockey team were suspended. Don't know if it was from school and/or playing next season. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Section 7A - 2016-17

A look ahead doesn't look much different then the year just completed. 1. Hermantown - not only in a class of their own in Section 7A, but in the entire state as well. Their defensemen will not be as good, but the tenacity of their backcheck and dominating forecheck doesn't require their defensemen ...

Those of you who haven't seen Hermantown play have no idea how good they are. Fast, physical, deep, great passing and with good goaltending. If this doesn't go into running time I'll be shocked. Hibbing or Greenway would probably beat LDC by more than one goal, there is no chance of LDC staying with...

People start lining up around 8:00 a.m. for the Thursday morning session. I've been there at 8:30 and some people are already in line. Similar situation for the evening session. Friday evening session expect a very long line.

Since Class A tickets are all general admission it's hard to say how early you need to get there to avoid seats behind the nets. Also depends on who is in the championship game. Parking is good for all day as long as you don't leave.

Greenway is definitely upgrading its schedule for next year. They will have Rapids and Duluth Marshall for sure. The "deer in the headlights" description was spot on. Tough way to end the season. Glad Hibbing made to the finals. They controlled the game. Perunovich looked like he was favoring a shou...
