If that has not been done than the local association needs to re-think their approach. If done, and denied then a grievance can be filed and it can be reviewed a...

I should write an article on the top East conspiracies that allow them to control all things HS hockey. The Elite League roster stacking conspiracy is one of our better ones, though of course it has nothing on the 7AA playoff location conspiracy , the 7AA seeding meeting conspiracy (RIP now that we...

Hermantown is already so loaded with open-enrollees and transfers at the PeeWee level that they will have 5 teams this year. That's unheard of in this area and more than any program in 7AA even, including all of the huge metro programs. Who are the "huge metro programs" in 7AA? I can only assume yo...

An extra year for dad to try to recruit enough for a tourney run. Never thought of that. You may very well be correct. Do you mean MSHSL? Once you start 7th Grade repeating a grade doesn't get you an extra year. He would be out of eligibility after his Junior year. Not sure how this would help him ...

I don't deny the kids talent vs their peers and if they stay on the same projection they're currently at I believe they'd probably end up at the U of M anyway. Kiv, Elk does not have huge numbers, not small but would guess somewhere in the middle. 404 boys including Jr Gold and 68 Bantams is no where near the Wayzata, Edina, and OMGHA's of the world which are the huge associations. Re: Advice on PW vs Bantams

His coach this past season told me several times "he needs to play Bantams next year so he will have 3 years of HS hockey." He can play one year of bantams as a 9th grader and still play 3 years of HS hockey, lots of kids with July/August b-days do it. And lots of kids with July/Aug b-days move up ...

Echoing SCBlueLiner's thought's in the other thread, I think it will result in many of the associations that still field Bantam C teams to just declare B2 as their lowest level teams. You'll end up with just a handful of Bantam C teams in the metro area that end up playing in a mixed district league...

How many districts have associations that still field Bantam C teams? I'm guessing the larger/metro area districts like 3, 6 and 8, but who else? District 10 hasn't had a Bantam C league for a few years now.

Doesn't Eastview buy ice from 5-6 different arenas? Rinks decide who they enter into contracts with for ice purchasing. Most rinks that have established relationships with an association will give that association the opportunity to renew the same contract each year before making any of that ice ava...

Easy one. No school sponsored youth teams. Schools currently hosting youth hockey teams should be shut down immediately. No exceptions! I assume you're talking about the private school teams like in the CAA? My understanding is that, since those aren't sponsored by USA Hockey, they don't fall under...

The arguments for keeping the July 1 birthdate cutoff seem to always include some reference to "most associations allow the move up anyway". That's great logic if every youth board had the same policy on move-ups, but they don't. There are some associations that have board members who want to hold t...

How about changing the birthdate cutoff to match the school grade cutoff. Just put that whole thing to bed so associations don't have to come up with their own policies on what to do with the kids born in July/August. This is a great idea and always has been. Unfortunately not all associations have enough available ice to maintain a 2:1 practice/game ratio throughout the season. Re: Practice schedule and ?

How many Associations give your team two days off the day before a game with no practice? It's common. Ice time is a limited resource, rinks are expensive to build and many cities are not willing to spend tax payer money to build rinks for youth hockey teams. Our association has approx. 500 kids, w...

Apparently we've seen the death of Peewee C hockey in D10 this year. Not a single association has a C team at the Peewee level. Will be tough for some of the D10 PWB2 teams to play outside the district.

I'm not a fan of AA/A, but I don't see it going anywhere. Next MN Hockey change will be BB/B levels, eliminating/replacing the B1/B2 designations that some districts do now.
