Saw the Bears Hill game, my 2 cents. HM was not the better team, they knew that coming in. What I saw was a HM team that had a plan and stuck to it like any well coached team would do if they knew they were the lesser team. They collapsed around their own net and did the little things right to get t...

certainly OK to ruffle feathers on the Forum. Most can take it. As long as no players are the target. It is assuredly not any players fault for getting an award or recognition of a job well done. I think all can make an argument one way or another on who may have deserved to get recognition but it i...

https://www.theplayerstribune.com/elite-defensemen-101-kevin-shattenkirk-nhl/. Thought this was worth mentioning in regards to the Ohio State coach. The term" Horny for the puck" has been used in articles by NHL players as Kevin Shattenkirk uses to describe younger NHL players in the article above i...

No other school in Class A has the financial resources available to it that Warroad does, plain and simple. They have players from 3 states and Canada. Case in point for their best D, hometown and high school don't jive; There are plenty of schools with more resources than Warroad. It's 14k per yea...

Only one private school representing AA this year. They will be sending out a marketing barrage this summer. What warroad is allegedly doing is not much different than the private schools pooling players together. Makes more of a difference on the girls side of things, you add 2 high end girls to a ...

After much thought and seeing teams in the Suburban Beast, including Flake over the past five years and keeping an eye on other 7AA teams this year I do not think the Flakers will advance to the state tournament this year. Unless they can disguise Maddi Nolan and sneak her into section games it's n...

I believe someone told MNstar that you need high end goal scorers to make it through. My guess is that without any Andover goalie in net they still would have won 3-1 . Getting shutout and giving the goalie who let 3 in all the credit and no kudos to the opposing goalie is priceless. Better st...

Imagine that, Eastview in the section final with Eagan. Knights was right the section was poorly seeded but that's why you play the games. it's also why you should watch the games if you want to know what you're talking about.

Yep Numbers look good to me and should to anyone else also. However, if you think most girls high school goalie stats are skewed you would have to watch the goalies yourself in person to see if they are ELITE or not. I have and probably no less than 20 times each and IMHO They are both ELITE. I also...

Spoken like a true goalie parent who really knows their stuff. Your questioning "ELITE" IS in fact saying they are not ELITE. I'm sure your goalie is ELITE though, for the 2 factors I set forth previously and only 1 of the 2 factors need apply.

Foil talks out of both sides of his mouth. Which is it? Do Stats tell the story since you mention them quite often? or is it Stats don't matter? which is also what you mention quite often. I'm sure the number of shutouts is the only stat that matters for goalies though. In my opinion if a goalie mak...

Eastview had the toughest schedule of the group by far. They are a pretty good team that works pretty hard the whole game and makes it tough for anybody. East Ridge on the other hand was missing their Best player for a good chunk of the season, say what you want but One really good player makes a BI...

Look at the teams PP %. That will tell you if there is a supporting cast beyond your top line. If you have a fab 2 but not a 3rd or good D pairing then that will reflect in your top PP unit #s. ALL I'm sayin is don't let Edina or Blake get a PP on you because it's not just 3 It's 5. If it's Centenni...

Agreed Knights14. I can say with certainty that East Ridge is superior to both Burnsville and Park. I don't know much about AV but IMO EastRidge and Eastview should have higher seeds. It will be Eagan VS East Ridge for the right to play Eastview anyway so don't worry about seeding just yet.

Well said, I think stats don't show the whole story. As a former goalie myself I can say that any college scout, either D3 or D1 will be able to figure out if a goalie is a fraud or not. Some teams have a really good top 4 D which in the girls game helps immensely. Girls just seem to have a hard tim...

Hey, when you get paid to write articles why not write as many as you can. Problem is you can't complain your coaching and not making a penny when in reality you are. Your gathering material to get paid. Just like NYstar does. Pen and paper or microphone, there's a couple bucks in it for everyone.
