HM school started this year a 6th grade 7th grade hockey team through the school as I understand why would that help? dont local youth league programs get like 50 games a year? It's not intended to help the varsity program. It's 6-8 outdoor CAA games against other Catholic grade schools teams. It's...

Both the Metro East Conf. and the HM Hockey websites have Stillwater on Jan. 23 and no game against LVN on the schedule. The South Suburban has LVN at Burnsville that night.

That's the absolute truth. Bill Lechner's strategy to slow down Roseau that night was to hit, hit some more, hit with sticks, hit after the whistle and hit the goalie. It worked to perfection.

LN - HM

I wouldn't count the Pioneers out in this one. LN is certainly loaded, unbeaten, #1 and the favorite. When they met in December LN dominated the first period, 1-0 score and 18-8 shots. In periods 2 & 3 the shots were 16-14 and the score 3-3. In the mean time Begley has matured and HM's D has been ve...

Solid game by the Pioneers tonight. Congratulations to Coaches Lechner, Schafhauser & Ciro and the team. 27 State Tournaments in 41 years at Hill-Murray. A great hockey history continues.

It will be interesting what Hill decides to do for a goalie. I am assuming it will be sophomore Jake Begley. Which may be interesting to see if he is a little shaky. I'm predicting whoever gets the first goal will win the game. 3-1 Hill. Begley is the goalie. He has been in goal 7 of the last 8 gam...

4AA Final: Stillwater vs. Hill-Murray

The Hill-Murray Pioneers face its true top rival, the Stillwater Ponies, Friday at Aldrich Arena for a trip to State. Sadly we have to declare the rivalry with White Bear to be dead. 1 WBL victory in 20 matches and now they don't show up for for section finals any more.

Aldrich

There are still home and away team locker rooms on the east end. Hill-Murray built their locker rooms on the west end. Continuing to use their locker room has nothing to do with who is the top seed. PS - Can anyone confirm that Section Final tickets will be sold at Aldrich Thursday morning starting ...

The semifinal double-headers at the Coliseum have not had big crowds the past few years. The Friday finals have pretty much filled the Coliseum. I suspect it will not be hard to get a seat on Tues. and Wed. but Friday will require getting in line early for ticket sales.

Yes several good spots a mile north on White Bear Ave. by Maplewood Mall. Recommend Jake's on Beam Ave. Chili's is across the street. There's a Carbone's with great pizza at WB Ave. & County Rd C ever closer.

Aldrich Arena

Not sure what you're talking about. It has always been kept up and very clean. It's been a great place for high school hockey for more than 50 years. Still is. Great sight lines. Loud when full. Looking forward to Section finals in there in a few weeks.

The Hub is showing Begley as Hill's starting goalie. What gives, isn't Wendlant their guy? Sounds like it was a great game, and some icing on the cake with 2015's Royal Rumble, which it sounds like Jake Begley was the winner of, and will go on to face the champion at Wrestlemania. Wish I could have...

OT in St. Paul From the announcers, it sounds as though there are several several D1 players on the ice with the 2 privates on the ice. Question. On average, how many D1 players are on each of these private teams each year. Very impressive. Also, the stands don't look full. Just an observation... ....
