Re: No Peewee Checking? - the other reason hockey would chan

If checking leaves the Peewee, level one other aspect of the level will change. More girls will be playing boys hockey. Girls numbers are already a big problem in most associations, now picture the occasional team with a girl player, with no checking, many girls/parents will opt for Peewees and mos...

I remember when I grew up in hockey. If a player on the team took a cheap penelty, the coach had them wear a weight vest for the entire next practice. I do believe the coach has a large influence on the type of play that is allowed to persist game after game. Blatent checks from behind at the high ...

Rule 632 of the USA hockey rulebook says that if a team refuses to start play, they first receive a warning, then minor for delay of game, and finally a Match penalty is assessed to the head coach. The head coach is then suspended until a hearing is held. I don't know if the Roseau referee chose to ...

I know our guys had them fitted properly. The flaw is the flexibilty, when it flexes, there is not enough padding on the edges to keep the shell from hitting the forehead area. It is a SECONDARY purpose of the helmet to prevent concussions, the primary purpose is to protect the exterior of the head...

I ref 75-100 games a year and I've never seen a cut from a Messier helmet.
In fact I bought for myself and my younger son.

I do have about 40 stitches in my chin from a lousy Protec mask in high school.

Check how loose the straps are, more than likely they are too loose.

All of the rules needed are already in place,it is the enforcement(interpretation) that is needed to be stepped up. Head contact has been THE MAIN emphasis with USA hockey It is being enforced Coaches need to spend more time on how to check correctly and less time on breakouts. you almost never see...

It doesn't matter what class you're in. Who cares who you played the whole year either. Breck was just as good if not better than Edina and Tonka. If a team wants to play Single A cuz they go to the tourney every year and win it, then someone beat 'em! I agree... If teams dont like it....stop em Wh...

We were hassled this year for having rips or zippers open in the inner thigh of our breezers...thought that was a little overbearing. The MSHSL made a HUGE deal about this three years ago. Your refs probably work high school too. Why wouldn't you have them zipped up? The kids can more easily get hu...

When was the last time someone remembers a team checking for an illegal curve and bringing out the dime. I saw it about five years ago in a bantam game....made me laugh, I hadn't seen it since the 80's prior to that. They changed the rule a few years ago to allow up to a 3/4 inch curve. Even Ovechk...

I'm sick of the tools who stand up near the glass turn around and wave to the camera during play.
It's really cool when then text their buddies to see if they saw them being a tool.
