A player who checks someone from behind can receive a five and a game whether the other kid is hurt or not. The NCAA has been very tough on this rule for four years, it shouldn't be a surprise at the youth level. There are plenty of minor penalties that can escalate to a five and a game if you injur...

I think you make some great points and I'll add one.... It's never too late to start playing, the notion that if you haven't started by age 5 or 6 you'll never be good is false. There has to be a place for everybody who wants to play to play, hockey does a remarkable job of limiting its talent pool...

Will MNH get rid of the B-1 State Tournament? I think they should add B2 and C if there are enough teams. Baseball offers State tournaments at AAA, AA and A; why not hockey? There are plenty of rinks and ice available in March. If you play and practice all year and have a good season you're done aft...

Nothing wrong with playing up but why be ashamed of doing it by changing your team's name?
Playing up in a lower level invite tournament would probably teach your kids more than pounding on open teams.

Let's have AA and A
Sweet sixteen bracket
Play your own class first round
Mix it up after that

STA and Breck would probably still win a trophy every 10-15 years and they wouldn't have to feel embarrassed about doing it.

Is there anything that should be changed? Without going crazy. The only thing I would like to see changed is that major 5 of endless scoring to 5 and one goal. keep it the same for the skater. Is making the team pay that price worth it ? Does anyone else have anything. Can someone translate this fo...

I have to agree for the most part with this. My son played on a AAA team when it was only "select" players. Up north here it was the Northern Wings and down south it was the Blades. Who by the way the Wings never could beat". Those were the teams to be on and as far as up north the top players were....
