Today was the first time I've seen Delano, and after all the buildup I was expecting a lot more. They obviously have talent, but sometimes talent alone isn't enough. To me they just looked "off". The way they were fanning and half-fanning on their shots and not finishing...I'm sure that's atypical ...

Based on getting their teeth kicked in for 14 years in AA, based on average youth numbers, based on how many kids they are actually pulling from A-ML and finally based on that I actually had to use a calculator to add their opponents scores from those years! :) But a lot of schools can say at least...

Any suggestions on where to go to get in depth analysis of what happened in this game?? I saw MAML play my hometown team---Sartell--- twice this year and neither game was close (5 and 6 goal wins for Sartell)... From what I saw, I didn't expect them to stay with 4 goals of Delano in this game. Was ...

Of course enrollment matters. If you have a hockey program and have 100 bantams to pick from instead of 25, eventually the program with numbers is going to win out. Established programs are successful, but as newer programs with better numbers take a foothold they will be successful too. This win i...

Petioned down to rebuild the program and it worked. Doesn't petitioning down kind of ruin the point of a two class system based on enrollment? I'm surprised the MSHSL allows this. Enrollment means nothing in Hockey. Annandale and Maple Lake have to co-op with someone or else their kids don't play. ...

Not as big an upset as this one though.
If Delano played the wild do you think they could hang with them?

I'm confused, why aren't they playing at the X?

Maybe Little Falls can share their state titles with Delano.

Totally agree with you Green4 I think it should be earned through out the year. Casey is a very special talent and will probably make it to the NHL and and have a great career! The 6/7 times I watched him play this year he hasn't pulled me out of my seat a ton. Now maybe he is conserving energy for...

I don't think he's insinuating the move to rink 2 is a reason for their downward turn. It's just a side note. I'm in agreement with many previous posters about Benilde, this season is likely just a bump in the road and a learning experience for some younger players. I'd be surprised if they don't s...

If the score holds, does this rival Minnesota vs. Holy Cross? Haha, that's funny. The way the announcer is calling the game, it could be. Looking forward to hearing his end of the game call, if the feed works. Delano has already been proclaimed the best team in the state by some (maybe most) of the...

I'm sure that's what Holy Angels thought too, how long has it been since they've been relevant? Maybe this question has been asked and answered before, but what did happen at Holy Angels that caused them to become irrelevant? They were arguably the best team in the state in the early 2000's, now th...

Judging by the number of NHL scouts at Hermantown games...I would throw Dylan Samberg in the discussion. Chatted with one scout, he said to expect every team watching him. It's been almost 20 years since a Class A kid won it, and that was a special circumstance. He's not in the discussion. Add the ...

I don't see how you can rank Hermantown as anything but #1. They will walk through their single A schedule like a combine and enter the state tournament. There's 2 parts to this: 1. This discussion has come up every year for the last few years. When you are looking at scores and trying to be as obj...

You should really reconsider the walkway, and no you don't need an elevator to have adequate ADA seating. The ADA seating could go at the corners elevated a couple feet via a ramp and platform. I would think sightlines would be something to take pride in when building a new venue. A walkway in fron...

Hill hasn't been great in the first period of games this year. I could be wrong, but I think they've given up the first goal in half their games so far. The pioneers just don't have the offensive weapons to consistently come from behind, especially when they start playing better teams. If the bears...

Re: Delano Top Line

Thanks Minn_Hockey. Delano line is on pace to hit similar #'s. The trip to Duluth may slow them down in their 2nd game (Bemidji or Hermantown). Two games against Holy Family and a game with defensive minded Wayzata are also on their schedule. Dec. 27 1pm. Cloquet/E/C Lumberjacks play your Delano bo...
