Per Twitter, Alexandria up 5-0 after two.
Thanks! Go Cards!
5-0 final. Twitter says Doherty got shaken up early in the 3rd and left the game and went to ER. Firstly, hope he is ok, as he is a great guy. Secondly, big blow if he is out.
Any news on Doherty?

Re: 2018-19 Section 6A

I think a victory at Alexandria is a pretty compelling argument for the 2 seed. Very hard to argue against that one. I do think Alex is better, but they should've taken care of business at home.

Sartell will be #2 unless they lose tonight to Fergus, which I doubt they will. Head to head is hard to argue against.

Word is the Doherty got booted from the game last night for a head butt... anyone at the game last night? If that is true, that is huge for their game against Sartell tomorrow.
RinkWriter scoresheet has 5 minute plus GDQ.

Re: 2018-19 Section 6A

I honestly don't know the answer to this, but does anyone put much importance on Conference titles as compared to Section titles anymore? Pretty much just bragging rights at this point. Sections much more important for obvious reasons. Well, it is no doubt a great achievement for whoever wins it.

Re: The Hermantown Thread

SCC often has kids from cities/towns outside of the St. Cloud area. So they draw kids (parents actually) from a larger pool also. Not sure it's much different than H-town.

Re: Class A Top 20 1/27/19

Yes, in Section 6A, the only teams that get a home game in the semi-finals and final is basically Cathedral and to some extent Sartell. Apollo used to have it good too until they merged with Tech and went AA. We don't believe in neutral site games in our section for hockey I guess. I can't think of...

I say go to calendar year. A lot of kids already do this for summer hockey and it hasn't caused any kids to have debilitating psychological problems.

Does this automatically eliminate Chaska from a top 4 spot in Section seedlings? :) :x I know this is tongue in cheek, but as the guys on the podcast like to say, this could be the ultimate transitive property ever. Hibbing > Eveleth > Chaska > Edina > Minnetonka. Thus: Hibbing > Minnetonka! Yes! F...

Re: Class A Top 20 1-20-19

I was at the LF vs SCC game and SCC is just a whole different level. And that was with SCC missing at least two key names from the lineup. LF goalie kept them in the game and LF had a chance to tie it up at 2 in the third with a 5 on 3 but never even got a shot. Then SCC got the third goal with 3-so...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Enrollment has nothing to do with it and everything to do with how good your hockey program is. To say enrollment isn't a huge factor in the quality of your hockey team is ludicrous. And it is even more important today than ever.
