He's hitting .171 and is 29 years old. I doubt he makes the big league squad.

Matt Moses and David Winfree are the only 3B prospects the Twins would even consider. Moses has been a bust, he has some good pop but is awful defensively. Winfree hasn't done anything above AA. 3rd base is going to be manned by Punto and Cirillo for awhile.

Re: Pace of game

Maybe just me. Maybe because it was a Sunday. Maybe because it was at altitude. Maybe my head was just a little foggy but did anyone else feel that this game was played in slow motion. I've seen maybe 30+ gopher/sioux games in my life and this was easily one of the most stale performances by either...

Chris Porter, UND's senior captain. If I had to pick anyone to score one for the Sioux, it would be him.

Frazee kept them in that game for the most part so there is no need to trash him. It was two pretty evenly matched teams, but UND had the better of the play in OT and were bound to win that game. I don't wanna root for UND but I hate the eastern bias and would love for the WCHA to show up the NCAA d...

HUGE save by Frazee at the end of the period. That would have been tough to swallow, especially since there was a little fracas at the other end that led to a 4 on 3 rush. Hopefully the Gophs can kill the PP and gain some momentum early in the 3rd.

The pitching matchup in Game 1 will be Johan Santana and Erik Bedard most likely. Santana is always a bit shaky in his few outings of the year so this game is anyone's guess. Mauer should be ready. Can't wait, only 8 days. Game is on ESPN as well and starts at 6:05.

Musings of Silva's job not being safe definitely paint a more rosy picture of the rotation situation.

Re: post 7499

Gardy, I'm beggin' ya... Garza, not Silva. Please... pretty please. Garza, not Silva. I will readily second that motion. But if he doesn't do it now, it will be done later. Thirded. I think it's a foregone conclusion that either Silva or Ponson will suck so bad that Garza will be pushed into the ro...

If Michigan wants to get back on top they need to start by staying out of the box. The Fighing Sioux already have FIVE power play goals through the first two periods of play! You're right. Seems like UND is on a PP every other minute, couple 5 on 3's. The Sioux PP is deadly, they will kill ...

They're one of the best offensive teams and one of the worst defensive teams. It's the style they've always played, it's really hurt them in the last decade from taking the step and being elite again.

Re: post 7477

Good God. I predicted high scoring but this is ridiculous. Sounds like a lot of penalties and plenty of offense with shoddy D and goaltending.

Irish I think win 2-1. The Spartans have never impressed me when I have seen them this year and I think the Irish have the number of the CCHA. David Brown backstops them to a Frozen Four.

You know they're never going to be short on heart or work ethic, and that's what they showed tonight. Hats off to them for representing the first service academy tournament appearance well.
