Re: Recruiting Update Tommies > Gophers?

UST picks up Boerger, Brown, Devries and Hause from the local class of 2023. U of M still has Lindsay and Klepinger but the pool is getting shallower. Joel Johnson is moving quickly to secure top skaters at the expense of his former employer! Are those 4 considered losses for Minnesota? Were they r...

Re: Recruiting Update Tommies > Gophers?

My pleasure! I hope not, because it would be bad for the kids, but I wouldn't be surprised if a similar level of drama played out at Tonka this year. Wins will pile up, but there is only so much ice time to go around, and there are more kids whose dads are expecting them kids to play starring roles...

Re: 8AA 2021-2022 Season

Might be giving Elk River too much credit. Leading scorer from last year bailed to chase a banner with another program. No immediate help coming from last years Bantam AA team. Offensive production will be a huge question mark this year for the Elks. Typical response from someone who has no clue wh...

Re: 21/22 Schedules

Waiting to see what kind of schedule Gentry was able to put together. Can they play anyone tough? You'd think Hill, Stillwater and White Bear Lake would give them a game since they could face them at sections... So far from what is posted on the Hub, Gentry is doing home-and-away series with severa...

Fixed.
I'm not sure that changes the calculus.

Parents quite often move their kids into better academic schools. That's not roastable either, in my opinion.

Re: 2021-22 Transfers

Why is it several boys hockey teams get roasted when they have transfers in on a somewhat regular basis, but the girls teams really never do. Edina, Tonka, Andover, & Holy Family have had huge transfer numbers the past few years. There's no point in roasting anyone. Let these kids play where th...

What happened with the mascot? I don’t have a subscription to the trib. The person who initially designed the hornet is withdrawing his consent to continued use of the design. Edina will use an "E" on its uniforms (helmets, etc.) until they resolve the issue, and I believe they're trying ...

It's sad what's happening to high school sports. Same teams year after year. The boys list is out, but the girls’ page still says after June 9. Anyone with info or theories as to why the difference? I don't think all USA Hockey Districts have held their girls' tryout camps. One example - the Southeastern District holds its camp May 21-23, and on its site is this: ..... some...

At the 16 level, Vegas more or less got smoked 5-2 - outshot about 40-20 and were stuck in their zone for long stretches of the game. Fatigue may have been an issue - bunch of kids not playing as much hockey as Caesars in the last month, and not playing together as much as Caesars. Not to mention i...

Re: Hockey Hub 21-22 top 26 AA teams

Gentry will not be a top 15 AA team next year The team does lose a lot of talent and a stellar goalie. Their end of season ranking will probably depend the most on: (1) whether any non-2021 grads go the Juniors route; and (2) the schedule. I think a #3 or #4 seed at Sections is a reasonable expecta...

Vegas with a convincing 7-1 win against Team Colorado. Interesting that Colorado has an 8-1 loss on their record to MSP Red, which is a group that is supposed to be several notches below the Vegas crew. I expected a somewhat more lopsided score, to be honest. Roberts looked very good. Team Colorado...

In the early 1990s at my high school (one of the 5 largest public high schools in a Midwestern state), we were allowed to choose what we wanted to do for gym in 5 week intervals, giving us 8 "classes" of sports for the school year across four 10-week quarters. One could pick from broomball...

For what it's worth, it looks like hockey's not the only thing Gentry's going to dominate. But, just as the hockey team can use their "W.I.N" time to play hockey, the lacrosse players can use that time to play lacrosse as well. Since there's a turf bubble right next to the school building...

In case anyone was wondering the seriousness with which MN Hockey is taking this weekend's process, they are asking some of the teams to play back-to-back 46 minute games, and one U17 team is playing 3 games in 9 hours. That is in direct violation of their own participation rules governing rest time...

With regard to Enright and Broz, we probably can answer this question by answering the question as to another absentee. Is there any possible way Courneia will not be one of the goalies selected for the U18 Select camp? And if they are selected, it would have been ethical to let all camp attendees k...
