36 looks all giddy in his white out, too bad there are not more students here, very sparse turnout for a big school. Would have had more if day game and kids could have left school. If you want to know where the bitterness comes from in PHC, Ej cut his daughter off the section roster so now he is t...

Re: would you support

A high school coach who: 1. rolls three lines no matter what the score 2. allows only 9-12 to tryout 3.is totally transparent 4. tells the truth 5. is willing to let stud players leave because of 1-4 THoughts #1, #3, #4 would be very hard for the Head coach at Tonka to follow since he does not do t...

Re: Lake Conference Domination

After tonight's games I think it is about time to stop talking about The Crimson and all these other pretenders. Another year of lake conference domination in girls hockey. The only teams that can beat the Lake teams when it matters is the lake teams themselves. The only reason 4 lake teams won't b...

Up 7-2 in a playoff game and Tonka still can't put their 3rd or 4th line out for some experience? They must have zero confidence in those girls! Clueless..played everyone. Check the box score, it was a Jv kid not even a 3rd liner in the penalty box, in addition our 3rd line left wing had goals in t...

That is my point 36 guy. Play the 3rd line and dress more than 13 skaters early in the season. Give opportunities to those kids in games that were easily in hand. Burnsville, Chaska, MV, Buffalo and maybe their were others. Those are meaningless non conference games before the Holidays. The players...

I received the Bat signal and twitter posts that 36 referenced my team. (a big shoutout for Crimson) I appreciate the thought and we will have to win our first game to have the opportunity to play Wayzata which will present a very big challenge with Shaver and supporting cast of 3 lines. If we are ...

Mass - Depth is something that Reading believes gives them an advantage over most opponents. “In big games some coaches shorten their benches,” said Golden. “Not me. If anything I’m more likely to play even more people because it keeps us fresher and playing better. We want to get off to a good sta...

I have nothing to do with Tonka hockey. I have no problem with the coach playing 2 lines or whatever players he feels gives him the best chance to win. This is High School hockey and playing time is not equal. What I do have a problem with is not playing other girls when a game is already in hand. ...

Re: Is Blaine the new #1......

Hockey Hub showing 2-0, is this a correct score? I am sure somebody can fill us in on the blow by blow plays like they did for the Blake scrimmage. Maybe the results are wrong, Tonka must have been fighting the illness that took out their whole team vs Blake? Or maybe this was a scrimmage like Blak...

Re: Minnetonka Bench Shortening

I traveled over to the cold and loud Pagel arena to witness the great game between EP and Tonka. It certainly lived up to it's billing and was a fun game to watch. It did not appear it was so much fun for the non-participating girls who rode the bench the entire second period and the entire third e...

It might have something to do with parents of kids in hockey have so much "invested" in their development that it hurts more when they don't play much when they get to high school. Or, and this is probably closer to the truth, hockey parents are nutso. ;) I would say you're correct. Hocke...

Is Shortening the bench real? Open Forum

Rather than going the traditional route and talk about rankings or trash talk a little bit, I would like to get feedback on one specific topic. Why is playing time in hockey or shortening the bench held to a different standard than other sports? While I would agree that even I don't know if the ques...

Re: Is Blake the New #1 in both Class A & AA

Tonka's top goalie did not give up a goal. I hear they split the game. I am sure if she stayed in the outcome would have been 0-0. Still a good showing by the Bears and nice win going into sections, especially with Breck losing 4-0 to the Evil Empire today. It was Tonka's backup goalie who was in f...

Re: Is Blake the New #1 in both Class A & AA

3-0 vs Tonka today    Blake has a great core of young D and one of the best young goalies in the State. I am sure Wayzata wishes they still had this option. How many lines did Tonka roll in the scrimmage? My guess is that Blake was trying some different combos too. Was #35 in goal fo...
