No way JSR. Players are born with natural athletic ability. Ultimately, top player have that natural athletic ability. I can look at Squirt parents and can tell you which players have a chance to develop and which likely don't. Very few to zero made players in my opinion.

Agree on the Blake girls having a team full of AA talent. But, can a girls team move from A to AA if the boys team does not? Are there examples? Haven't seen that discussed.

Let me help you with a little something to tell your team. The refs are in charge. Sounds like your team didn't know that important fact. Refs get to call whatever they want. Usually the coaches fault for not telling the team that important detail. Players mimic their coach. If he's a fusser the tea...

Stop wondering why. Some of the privates have a full time communications director that pump out a steady stream of press releases. It their paid responsibility to promote the school and students with public relations.

2 sandbagging teams have been mentioned. Big deal! Let them enjoy some success to help revitalize their programs with new excitement. Sorry your team lost to them. Your plan would create many more unbalanced situations. Those two teams will likely opt to play at a higher level next year if the talen...

Most suburbs rise and fall pretty fast. Prior Lake already has a drop in numbers after nothing but growth for several years.

5 Bantam teams
5 PeeWee teams
6 Squirt teams (will not yield 5 bantam teams in 3 years)

Maybe just a dip as they appear to have a lot of mites.

I agree with most of what you say hw but with media you have to consider the number of attendees and also, more important, number of viewers.

When it comes to number of TV viewers your PC rant will likely go nowhere.

So you got a few sandbaggers at each level, eh. (List them for public embarrassment) Big deal! I believe this idea of forced rank will create even more miss matches. I explained before that just cuz two association have 50 skaters at a level means almost nothing because one group may work and train ...

Hear ya. Talent is probably the wrong word though.

Lack of appropriate coaching, heart and determination are probably more accurate descriptors. Not going to lean on goalie at all. Like the article said this morning, "gotta score 3 to win."

Just brutal. From what I saw, the Gophers really don't have a lot of top end talent. What? Many would say they have the best "recruited" talent. If you list the Gopher players with their high school or junior rankings next to Bemidji's list of players with their high school or junior ranki...

What benefit is there in leaving it up to the associations and districts? Cuz they know their players best. 20 hockey players in East Grand Forks aren't necessarily the same as 20 hockey players in Albert Lea. Tons of variables. Numbers can mean very little in terms of individual player development.

Whatever. Your kid is moving up next year. Every association is different way beyond numbers. The jockeying for position is BS (ultimately in terms of individual player development means nothing).

Recruit some more mites.

Wow! Really? The 65 level thing is goofy. Feeling for your personal situation but associations and districts discuss the appropriate level for each team before each season. Are there a few that seem to stretch the boundaries? Yes. Hopefully they move up next year. Deal wit it.

Depending of the strength of the association teams I'm ok with some top girls playing PeeWee when many are more mature, bigger and stronger than boys their age. Everything changes at bantam age when boys jump in size, now checking and sexual interest in the opposite sex blooms. Huge change. Not a fa...

Whatever. Seems to be the response you're getting too. A lot is said on the ice that isn't PG. I view this as similar to racist comments and unfortunately that's common. Right? No. Likely to disappear? No. Your opponent is showing their true character. Dirt.

The number of Tier III teams and the number of kids paying to play jr. and 16 and 18 AAA hockey is huge.
