They blew two big leads in 2 of the last three years and last year he threw his own team under the bus on the friday night before the championship and they were never in the game. He certainly is partially to blame for the four straight losses. When push came to shove the deeper and more talented t...

So, I guess if you're Catholic and your parents want (make) you to attend Catholic school so you get to practice your faith daily, you shouldn't be allowed to play hockey? It's God or the puck, right? Only public school kids should be allowed to play? If your Parrish elementary school is in the nei...

5A...a chance for Providence Academy to keep recruiting and knock out the legit A communities. I find it funny (sick) that the private schools get all of the blame here...how much of the blame gets put on the community that can't hold on to these kids? And why is hockey seem to be the only sport th...

Re: New Section Assignments
MSHSL.org just posted them. Check it out Biggest thing to jump out to me STA going to 3AA and Section 5A becoming as bad as 3A, Htown moving to 7A makes that sections STACKED Yep. Not many changes. Certainly none that will please the people looking for more competitive balance. Sorry if I missed an...

of all the goalies in the metro area, this is the best STA could find? I am disgusted Dugas and Zevnik (sp?) are good goalies, surrounded by terrific D that helps them look great. Zevnik is not having a good game right now. The 4th goal was soft, and he looks shaky. I don't think he's used to being...

of all the goalies in the metro area, this is the best STA could find? I am disgusted He's actually from Milwaukee, WI. Good goalie, a rare soft one on the 4th goal. This is the first time I have seen him tested, and it has been bad. Also, STA recruits out of state as well? No, kids from ou...

What people tend to undervalue is that there is so much family history at a lot of these private schools. For a lot of the kids, it isn't a decision based just off of playing hockey, it's a tradition. I don't see playing for a youth association as a binding contract that you'll play for their High ...

Some OE or go to private for a specific academic program or class that is offered. Some it's an athletic program. Some it's facilities of one or the other. Some it's something else. Yes. Hockey in this case. Now we agree. To the players credit, if you ask them about this, most will tell you they go...

Yes STA has looked like the best puck moving team out there during there playoff run against #90, #68, #29, #59, and #22 in the PS2 rankings. None of the AA teams have been as impressive. I would have given them a 70% (3AA) or 30% chance (4AA) of even making the AA tourney, depending on what section...

I've posted this in other thread and it seems to go no where, but I'll post it again: While geography is clearly used, in both classes you can clearly see that it's not the only thing. If geography were the only thing, there are many teams that would be in different sections. I understand keeping s...

Is anyone seriously suggesting that adding Hastings and Prior Lake to 1AA will make that section's entrant significantly better? One of those hasn't been to the tournament since it was at the Target Center and I don't even know if the other has been to section final. Check out the youth rankings. P...

How is the composition of the sectional teams determined? How often does the MSHSL implement section re-assignments? What, exactly, is the process? Geography is the only criteria as far as I know. Every 2 years. Largest 64 enrollments and anyone else who wants in make up class AA, everyone else is ...

After finishing 6th and 7th in the South Suburban, Lakeville North and South are once again playing for their annual free pass (Section 1AA) to advance to the state tournament. It's time the 1AA playing field gets leveled via realignment. Taking a look at the map, it seems Burnsville and Prior Lake...

People say they want to see new teams. But money talks and you know what walks. And the money says people want to see Hill and Edina. They hope to see them lose, but they will pay to see them. I want to see the best team from each section. It's also nice to see the small schools do well. Like Hill. ...

Why is everyone concerned about switching 1 AA? I understand it isn't the best hockey from top to bottom, some years are weak. Just a quick look back at the last 5 or 6 years, section 1 AA is close to 500 at the state tour. Without looking I bet there might be one or two sections that have done wor...

Does anyone know how much say a school has when sections get realigned periodically? Conference affiliation I would guess is more of a choice by the schools, not the MSHSL, plus as pointed out it can cross over the A/AA line. As such, you can have decades long standing rivalries (sons now playing a...

Re: Remaining posotive
I'd argue that some D3 teams are playing at a higher level too. (St. Olaf, for example) There is no way that a team from the NA would beat any team from the MIAC. Almost all of the guys in the MIAC have played in the NA (or higher), plus they are older, stronger, and smarter than they were when the...
