Funny someone should post this topic, I was just thinking about this. I wasn't there so I don't know for sure, but I could swear I heard about this happening in maybe the 2000 or 2001 section game between...I want to say Eastview Lightning and maybe the...Holy Angels? Yes, the NCHA is better than the MIAC, with St Norbert, Rivers Falls, Stout, St Scholastica, Superior and Eau Claire. The MIAC has St Thomas and then Gustavus is pretty good. D3 is a great alternative. It's disappointing though, from the education standpoint, that even for D3 you have to spend year...

Question for the Hastings guys. Is there something wrong with the school, town, or anything else that has to do with this problem? Until 3-4 years ago Hastings was always a top 5 team in hockey, but also in football, wrestling, and I think their baseball program was very good. Unless i'm mistaken, n...

Has Furne from Hill or Nelson from Roseau been committed yet? Seriously though- anyone looking at these kids? I'd guess Furne will get 2 years in the USHL then to a big D1, probably WCHA. I'd also like to hear from some northern guys about where they think Nelson, and also Moeser (sp?) will e...

So Hawkfan you are trying to tell me that public schools do not recruit for hockey that a bunch of B.S. Oh and STA happens to have one of the easiest sections ever to get to the state tourney. Which class A section has a better top 4 this year than STA's section? 5A? Maybe. 2A? Doubtful..... They'v...

Enrollment means nothing. Was anybody paying attention when the Class AA champ had less of an enrollment than the Class A champ last year? Why do we keep talking about enrollment as the sole criteria for Class placement? Class A should be for Worthington, Albert Lea , and Crookston. Not for STA and...

i have never said the classic suburban is any good. never. its horrible. im just pointing out the fact that if people say mahto is good they should look at the conference because if i was to make a thread saying how good HM is, people would be tearing me limb to limb about the conference play. Mahtomedi is in the Bronze final (underdog) St. Thomas Academy is in the Silver final (pick em) Hill-Murray is in the Gold Finals (pick em) Plus SSP and Tartan have solid squads with Richfield a step behind them. St. Thomas is the heavy favorite to win the Class A title and Hill-Murray sits atop Mi...

this conference has been intact for a while now it seems like hill-murray has won the conference every year followed by STA has anyone else won the conference outright besides hill? what year? STA won 3 games in both 02 and 03, finishing last both years. then I think they finished 5th in 04 and 3rd...

I have seen B'ville play and if they stay healthy and that is the key they will be ok. I am guessing that Edina will be number 1, with B'ville, AHA and Jefferson all looking to see who will end up number 4 and have to face Edina sooner than later. If politics have anything to do with this section a...

I'll be the guy to throw Aaron Ness into the discussion, even though he's only played his freshmen and sophomore seasons. Best HS player has to be Paul Martin. I think that would be unanimous if ER would have made it to state like they should have his sr. year so everyone could have watched him on t...

John Pohl ('98) from Red Wing I think is the only single A player to win it. Many on the board will say Oshie should have been the second in 2005 though.

No. Maybe their top 5-7 players but not 8-20.

Here's another question. Since 2000, how many teams that had the most talent won the state Championship in AA? I say only 2. 2001 Elk River and 2004 Centennial.

I would have gone with Frazee. He lost only 2 games all year, Briggs was a little shaky in the Air Force game, and they had rotated all year and all through the playoffs. I always say you have to pick your go to guy and go with him throughout the playoffs, but if they hadnt done it by the ND game th...
