I'm not a fan of privates... I'll say that right away and I do admire Hermantown, though I am not from there, nor do I have any ties. However, I think everyone needs to lay off Watcher. He's likely to give Htown the top sport now, which I agree they deserve and even more than that he's admitted tha...

Hermntown truely deserves to be ranked #1. Who is the best A team in the state ? Keep up the debate. Extremely entertaining. March is not that far away. You got that right. I think Rainier should get the "Most Extremely Entertaining Poster of the Season" award for his "inconsistency ...

There's nothing to resist, that's what I look at; HM scored 2 and a half times as much as STA did. The feed was terrible so stopped watching, so I can't comment on the game itself. Assuming Hermantown wins Saturday, they will be #1 on Sunday. It is tough to say they should be because of their sched...

Shots on goal do not matter, remember ? Yeah, but STA's ratio of goals was 2.5, wait, make that negative 2.5. Sorry HSHW, I couldn't resist. I look forward to your next rankings. :D There's nothing to resist, that's what I look at; HM scored 2 and a half times as much as STA did. The feed was terri...

With Bischoff I think Rapids beats Edina and Elk River at the Edina Classic, those were one goal games and I know he would have helped prevent a goal in each game and contributed in 1-2 goals in both. That would have put them likely at 22-3 or 21-4 at the end of the year. Seems to me even at 20-5 t...

I would not be too harsh on GR. The Hermantown D have the ability to shut down pretty much any team in the state. I don't think they were outcoached either. Herm is a strong deep team that is going to be tough for anyone to beat.

Gotta go with the boys from Duluth and wherever else their from. This is one of their best teams of all time. How many of this group are going to be D1 players? This Rapids team is decent but not as good as I thought they would be. Rapids only hope to win the section is to get whipped in this weeks...

Where do people think the Green Wave should bee? They beat TG bye a better ratio of goals than the Hawks did, so for those who think the Hawks should bee higher, the Green could have eh good claim two bee as well. Thoughts on EGF? Nice try watcher! Just had to get the Herm dig in there. It was: Her...

Such an interesting PARITY in the state beyond Hermantown. Results from the first team that the top 3 have played, 4th ranked Duluth Marshall: St. Thomas needed OT to win 4-3. Breck won 7-5 but allowed 5 goals. Hermantown handled Marshall 5-1, scored 5 goals from 5 different players, and shut out th...

Good ranking Karl but I must say Eagan and Grand Rapids are the only teams so far to handle Lakeville North 10 -1 and 11 -4 in convincing fashion. Possible that Lakeville North is a benchmark for analysis on teams down the stretch. Thursday night will be a Big Hockey Night in Grand Rapids!! ...

Nice win for St. Louis Park after they wobbled in the Holiday Tourney. Hopefully they can jump into your top 20. I noticed TJ Roo missed the game last night as well. Such an interesting parody in the state beyond St Thomas and Breck. Hermantown needed to come from behind to beat a Rogers team that ...

Given the ratio of private to public schools in Class A, I would say it absolutely is a public/private school issue. There are 75 public schools in Class A, and there are only 11 private schools. That's just about a 7:1 ratio. If the privates were on the same level, as HSHW asserts, then of the 24 ...

I'm not from hermantown so no idea. I am from a small town though and pull for the underdog. Kudos to any small public school that can compete with them. As you can see, not many can.

Anybody know if Hermantown ever considers moving up to AA? I'm not saying they should or shouldn't, but they would seem to be a perfect candidate with their long streak of Class A success and excellent youth teams. They would have been a top 3 7AA team for awhile now. Once again, not saying they sh...

Hermantown looked very good tonight and at times Denfeld looked OK ,sort of, but that was about it. At one point Denfeld was in a 5 on 3 with them and got one shot on goal in the two minute power play (both of the minors got called at the same time) and that was it. When it comes to back checking a...

Re: Class A Rankings 12-18-11

2. Hermantown (5-0) [3-0] Only scoring 3 against a team (Superior) that has allowed 4+ GA in 4 of their 5 other games isn’t a great sign. Then they follow that up with a 2-1 victory over section opponent Rogers; where’d the firepower go? They have two 7A opponents this week before traveling up to T...
