Re: 7AA 2020-2021

It's September and this thread has been non existent Is Rapids still the preseason favorite? Dover lost a lot but had very strong JV team with some incoming players, do they get back to the top by season end? Never can count out East, although may be another "down" year by east standards, ...

4.) Considering that USA Hockey and Minnesota Hockey aren’t at all liable for any Covid related legal challenges, whereas the MSHSL is, please explain why an MSHSL administrator should take on the risks of a player having a bad outcome due to Covid? Remember, all it takes is one kid out of the 1000...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

During a typical year, our community doesn't hold tryouts for J Gold until after HS tryouts are completed, are other communities the same? Without advance notice from MNHSL, season wouldn't be able to start when other level's (squirt-bantam) start allowing for longer season. Does a delayed start fo...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

Just to recap where we are: It is o.k. for my kid to go to school with 1000 people two days per week (that's half of his full school size, and they are starting out in hybrid learning). It is o.k. for him to work 8 hour shifts at Cub grocery store and interact with people and be sure that everyone ...

You continue to not answer my questions, thus I am done. You have your view and I have mine. You make your choices and I will make mine. I have no reservation on the decisions I will make as long as I follow STATE guidelines. You can hope/ask for separate school and teachers all you want but we both...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

Why can’t a coach teach the kids if they need to play hockey so bad? No hockey parents should think about the safety of their kids and the kids around them and be the adult and say during a pandemic my kid’s shouldn’t play hockey! Why should they have to and not attend their school if MN Department...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

So you are saying MNHSL is the authority over all hockey and should be followed despite what MN Department of Health says and guidance they provide? If MN Department of Health allows hockey my kids are playing. The fact you are missing is MNHSL also has to consider liability in addition to safety. T...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

Clearly some people posting here do not have a teenager at home. These kids are done with it. Parties are happening, going to the cabin or lake, etc. All with not a mask in sight and zero social distancing. This is not about those scary hockey kids coming to your school and getting your kid sick. T...

Agree, very tough decision but the right decision. Yes, feel very bad for all those that have worked so hard to get there. Tough decisions are never easy, that is why they are hard.

Re: Minnesota Hockey state tournaments

I am surprised MN Hockey didn't cancel State Tournaments. Considering all of the other events that have been cancelled, I would think MN Hockey would follow that lead. While I understand the professional leagues like NHL, NBA, MLB and NCAA are much larger venues with many more in attendance, the USH...

Re: Recruiting 2020-21 Season

How about this. We have a free agent list that gets formed in say March or whenever and kids can put their name out there on this list and be contacted all they want, but you have to be on the list to have it happen. Then at least it’s 100% transparent to all and all teams can try their best sales ...

Not saying Weineke won't start, my point is I don't think either can really be called the starter or the back-up.

But both teams chose to play the game at Amsoil. They both had the chance to decline and find a rink in the merto. I believe part of the issue is, if the schools wanted a change, they had to pay for it...is that correct? Most school districts would have a hard time justifying that cost, if that is ...

I think the days of programs with their own kiddos are long gone. It’s 2020 and so many have outside kids move in. The best teams in the state consistently the last 20 years have consistent move in/transfers. I don’t see CEC ever being a destination for kids looking for a team. Duluth East, Hermant...
