And with the announcement of players to the 15s Nat and the additional 16s / 17s on the National roster we start to receive emails from Elite League with new opening for the tryouts this weekend (all National Camp selectees are invited to tryout). Some parents even getting the invite to tryout befor...

I disagree with 00's not having very high end players. If you watched Taylor Heise play this weekend and not consider her on the high end of high end I feel you would be mistaken. She has every tool in the tool box. I expect her to be a U18 USA Captain this year and MN Ms Hockey as well if it is a ...

Is it just me or did a lot of the teams and games seem a step down talent wise from last year? Is the program getting so big the talent is becoming watered down? Don't get me wrong, tons of high end talent and still an amazing program and opportunity. Curious what you guys think. Just my opinion. V...

Totally agree. Very strong incoming class. Jamie Bird Jessica Bird Callie Hoff Madison Illikainen Madi Nolan Jordan Trapp I have seen them all play a number of times and coached against 4 of the 6 for the past few years. These 5 will add depth to an already very good team and make an immediate impa...

There is a lot more that goes into the selection process, than just the one weekend's on ice performance. Maybe that needs to be communicated more. A player that appears to cut the ice better, appears to have better vision, and looks to be more skilled, may have presented some other qualities that ...

Look, I'm just trying to figure out which MIAC schools improved themselves with their incoming MN HS players. Still would love to hear some names if anyone's aware. As to your assertion that D3 kids have better chances at employment, depends on the student, the major, and the school. Anyone who's p...

You had stated there are better players not selected and it was easy to see. I was pointing out that those better players (no denying they are really good players) could be substituted for other player and you would still have really good players not selected. There just isn't much difference in th...

For me, it is not that I don't wish to listen or even fear the truth, however, just because the "Icehiker" post something, certainly doesn't mean it is true. If you would provide some background and facts, it would be easier to move on, but when you state your opinions (or others opinions...

Very sorry if I took your last post in a bad direction. Not my intent to interpret things incorrectly. When I hear a statement like 'screwed' I feel the author might feel anxious. I will read your replies with a little more relaxation from this point forward.

There are a lot of really good players that didn't make it. Which ones got screwed??? My guess is if you take the 10 that you think got screwed (at one level) and give them spots and take 10 out then we will simply have a different 10 that got screwed. Probably very little difference between the la...

Better players? Since that statement is opinion based and most likely bias, it would be a difficult, if not an impossible accusation to prove. Stating it as fact, doesn't make it true. As far as feedback, I am not sure what good that would do. It is pretty obvious as to why they didn't make it, the...

Once again, BIG CONGRATS to all graduates that have the opportunity to continue to play the game we all love. Hmmm, since you have been tracking this for 7 years, can you provide some stats and facts to back it up? I think "better job opportunities" needs to be defined as well. Not disput...

And just to finish off the selection for the 16s. Only 4 new players this year compared to the Nat selection as 15s (1 goalie, 3 defense). This does not sit well for MN Hockey when it comes time for new players to tryout for the expensive HP process. And we thought that USA Hockey and MN Hockey was...

Playing DIII hockey is nothing to snub your nose at these days. There is more talent in DIII now than there was in DI years ago. With the talent pool that MN hockey has created the last 3 years you will see many top players playing DIII since DI programs only take 2-4 players each year. And we can a...

Thing is that MN Hockey picks the girls that move on, not USA Hockey. The evaluators will recommend players to move on for selection but MN Hockey has the final say and can over rule the evaluation recommendations. Now you can look at the MN Hockey selection panel and their ties to the girls hockey...

Very impressive list. MN always has a great showing at the camps. As always the question moves to who made the camp from the previous year. I know there are still spots to be filled but they are limited. As of now the 2000s have only 3 players making it that did not make it last year to 66s or St. C...
