On Rantanen, I have had the chance to witness the kid play and he has a smooth set of hands, but it is easy to see that the stats are inflated by the competition, not a knock at the kid, because he is a great player. Cameranesi Daly Rau Rantanen (hard to ignore the numbers, despite schedule) Heinone...

Section Finals have haunted them for sure. not really worried about Blaine or Centennial but if Osseo's top line has a big nite they could trip them up. Bonner is extremely good! I like Dahlberg and Dolby a lot, but beyond that Osseo doesn't have much to work with. Defensemen are very weak so they ...

Actually, after posting that I realized TJ Dimke from Mounds View a few years back had some USHL and NAHL scouts watch him his senior year. But he was a varsity kid as a sophomore, made the Advanced 17s I believe and had interest from D1 schools as a junior, just got burnt out of hockey and is now p...

how about USHL ? i've heard that scouts come see some JGA games and every year some kids get offers... true or false? False, occasionally players will go on to the MNJHL and do fairly well, but many players that are top end high school players can't even earn a spot on a USHL team. Like shown above...

Benilde is a top 10 team IMO but will have a very hard time making it out of their section. With all the up and down losses from many teams I would say it is a year where anyone can beat anyone in the top 20. Blaine for example with the loss to Champlin, they can play with some top teams, but after...

Blaine looked awful, Champlin dominated the first and third period with Blaine having a pretty good 2nd period. Champlin is a decent team but not great, but they are scrappy and work hard. Blaine's D also had a rough time breaking out the puck, hats off to the rebels!

If you watched the Maple Grove game, they outshot Blaine 40-12. They hit at least 5 posts and may have had 7 break aways. Blaine's goalie was unbelievable. What was the score? 2-2, hey that's what I thought. As soon as they start counting out shooting a team the winning let me know. :D :D :D 40-12 ...

Could go either way, although Maple Grove is expected to do much better, IMO these teams are much more evenly matched than most would think. Maple Grove barely squeaked by Anoka, but may have more depth than Blaine can match, but Maple Grove doesnt have anyone who can score like Brodzinski.

Well hats off to Burnsville and Edina for a great game. Maple grove only beat Anoka 1-0? That really surprises me

Good players, yes. Not a very challenging schedule, and sorry but no chacne they will make it out of sections. Will probably have one of the best seasons Chisago has seen, but get your head out of the clouds.

I would have to think there are a number of other schools that could also be in the position with 9th graders playing JV and moving up and down
Obviously yes, but from what I have been told, he is currently on varsity to start the year

1. Blizzard 2. Minneapolis 3. Moose Lake 4. North Branch 5. Mora 6. Legacy 7. Pine City 8. Becker 1. Blizzard - have Engelhart and some great young talent. They had a group of freshmen last year that will have a full year under their belt. Should be solid for a couple years to come as long as the y...

I'm not sure I would say destroy, but many of the top teams could compete at a middle of the road varsity schedule, or an average class A schedule. Definitely a good option if a player doesnt make or doesnt want to play for their high school team. Sometimes it can be a bit rough but I wouldn't class...

Should be a top 10 team, don't know if they'll have what it takes to make it to state but they have some very talented players and should do quite well and be able to hang with the top dogs this year.

Depending on the team, ACHA hockey is very competetive and bash me all you want for this...but can be better than Mnjhl hockey at times. Iowa State has a D1 and a D3 club team in the ACHA which their top team draws numerous NAHL players, and many other teams do as well. It's not big time hockey like...

If you're good enough to play in the USHL you've got a real good chance of playing at least D-3. The league is flooded with talent, even the NAHL draws D-1 comittments. Both the USHL and NAHL are quality ways to go on with hockey if you can keep up.
