Jigs your exactly right.. the problem with the gophers is they recruit only the goal scorers . Not saying that, that is a problem but it would help that team greatly if they recruited kids that would go in the corners and get the puck to those scorers. Hopefully Nick learns how to use his size and ...

Re: Eden Prairie

EP was built to win a title, Edina was built to get press. Their first, which is worth pointing out. Easy to question why teams don't win more, harder to actually do it. (Reading some of the above posts, me wonders why no one is saying, "how come Eden Prairie has only won one state title...I mean, ...

Re: giles

I think this article paints a much more accurate picture of Coach Giles than what was just posted above: http://www.twincities.com/ci_11891773 Leave it to the Cake eaters. "Giles has surrounded himself with assistant coaches rooted in Edina and North Stars mystique. Dick Blooston was a longtime you...

Sorry to burst the bubbles, but bantams is not high school. Just because you win at the bantam level does not mean that you win in high school. Kids grow at different rates and the level of play is a lot different. But good luck. So bantams isn't even an indicator then...what a joke...the youth pro...

It wasn't Edina losing that surprised me as much as it was how they lost. Usually a team ranked #1 with that much talent loses because either their goalie played bad, or the other goalie stood on his head. Prime examples of these are CDH victory or DE and HM over WBL in sections. I thought Edina's g...

That is the perfect team for Dan. They love big and slow defensemen.

Leddy had a comment in the Pioneer Press this morning that he thought the puck was going into the netting above the plexiglass when he shot it. After shooting, he said he turned around to skate to the bench for a line change, when he heard all the fans cheering. As said by somebody earlier, the puck...

Wow, you guys just don't understand this consolation bracket and what it means to be two and out! If Edina loses to DE, it good bye!

As I watched this game last night, I kept thinking I was watching a replay of the WBL vs HM section game. One team dominates, the other team scores.

Hounds give up 5 goals on 15 shots
Bears give up 5 goals on 19 shots

Its hard to swallow, but at least you guys made it to the dance!

Hill has no chance against EP. They are an average team that barely won an average section. I don't think their will be an upset in the first round. (Personal opinion is that the first day of the tournament has been ruined with the seeding of the top four teams). If I had to pick an upset though, I...

If that was a typical performance by EP against HM, then I will have to pick Blaine in this one. This was my first time seeing EP, and I got to admit, I was expecting a lot more. Were they just nervous being young?

I think seeding the top four teams has turned the state tournament into a two day event. The first day is rather boring. Yesterday there was not one game within 3 goals and I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing today. This seeding has also ruined office pools. 95% of the pools pick the first...

What size is Leddy? If he has size, then he probably could step right in and play for the gophers next year. If he is small, then you are just adding another undersized defensemen to an already small gophers defense. The gophs are getting killed in the defensive zone because they can't win any battl...

Folks, there are arguments on both sides for these types of issues as to why or when a player should leave. In my opinion, Ness had nothing to gain by staying in Roseau. MOST juniors in high school, that leave school, are going to the USHL, or NAHL, with the intent on getting a D1 scholarship. Ness...

Don't you think they should have these two sections play on seperate nights. Granted people want to see both games, but just think of the revenue they could pull in for two nights of this quality of hockey.
