SEMnHockeyNut: A known fact LHS recruits players for hockey. 8th Grader is further evidence of interference (recruiting) by the coaching staff. But Mayo's situation is similar. 3 Austin kids driving to Rochester every day and 1 Swede have all of the goals for Mayo, minus 1 or 2? Lourdes would be awf...

River Heights is a combination of what associations? I thought it is South St. Paul and Inver Grove Heights? Are there other areas included? What about Sibley Area? Thought is was West St. Paul? Other associations included? I find it odd that the Director of District 8, and his side kick are from SS...

Every association should have the freedom to do what they feel is best for their association. Some thinking winning is more important than placing their kids at the right level for their abilities. I am not aware of another association fielding more than 1 A team other than Rochester and Lakeville. ...

snowedin: It seems hard to argue with you. If I understand your position, you think the only way for the top elite players to get better is to practice, play with and against teams that have a very narrow range of ability levels. In other words, you think a team with 3 1st lines is better developmen...

Goldy313: That was not an ignorant statement at all. I have personally talked to Dr's and research Phd's that said the mouthguard in hockey is of little use in the prevention of concussions, FROM PLAYING HOCKEY. Your boxing analogy is a good one, an uppercut to the jaw can be reduced with a mouthgua...

The Maher mouthguard advertisement admits the mouthguard protects against a direct blow to the jaw. Does nothing to slow down the brain from crashing into the skull on a hit to the head. Mouthguards are extremely overrated for concussion protection in hockey. But I do love the refs that are on a cru...

The point I was making is the inconsistency of the calls because the ref wants to inject himself in the outcome of the game. Some referees don't want to make the CFB call for the 2-10 results in the loss of the FPP. So blatant checks from behind are called cross-check, boarding, roughing, etc. Other...

The chaos scenario hockeydaddy laid out is exactly what would happen. Add to this the poor administrators in each association trying to figure out who's coming to take over which levels in their association? Are they having 3 Pee-Wee teams or 10? What I would envision is a renegade and his minions i...

A couple things I've noticed over the years, MN Hockey mandated STOP signs on jerseys? For what? If they truly believe checking from behind is that bad, should be 5 minute major. Match penalty if determined to be intentional vs. incidental. Possibly allow 2 minute for incidental (no 10 minute added)...
