1a. Hornet
1b. Andover
3. Blake
4. Skipper
5. Trojan
6. NWC
7. Forest Lake
8. Eagles (Eden Prairie)
9. Brainerd
10. Maple Grove
Honorable Mention: Breck would be 3b. in this poll. They are going to be pretty good and despite their goalie being gone will destroy the field in "A".

Re: U18 roster for festival
I dont know Theile but there are imo 2 F, 1 D, and 1 G that one could argue could be on that squad. I think that the D & G are the best fit and if there is an injury or something happens to someone would not be surprised if one of them might get the call to join the squad. I think that the D wil...

Re: U18 roster for festival
No shot. They might win 1 game that is stolen by your favorite goalie (and mine of the 2 listed) 1-0 but would probably lose every game by 3+ goals.

Re: Andover vs Edina
Before you guys anoint this as the game of the decade let's not forget that there are a few other teams that might have a say in this year before the season end specifically Brainerd and Forest Lake. They tied 2-2 over the weekend. I'll take Andover 5-4 as it is the first game of the year and ther ...

Re: Andover vs Edina
No shot that there is 8 goals in the game unless 6 of them are from the Hornet jg. The finely oiled machine that is the mighty hornet power play + the next great boys - girl tender * ** *** is the difference in this game. With this being the new dawn of sports betting and it is EVERYWHERE but here i...

Re: 2020 Ms. Hockey discussion
Not much of an argument from me on 6 of the last 8 Ms. Hockey's. No argument on Zumwinkle, Baldwin, Cameranesi, Brandt, Heise, or Wethington. Cant argue with their HS resume's, their Sr year statistics and impact, USA Hockey contributions, and college careers (thus far). I think that one could const...

Re: 2020 MS Goalie
Just want to add my opinion that both Bothun and Vetter are the 2 best goalies in the state (goalies that I have seen plenty of to have a legit opinion) right now and specifically for their grades. One goalie not mentioned here is Corniea. She is really good too. Vetter > Bothun (but its close...) >...

Re: 2020 MS Goalie
It is unfortunate that many of these girls are playing boys. I absolutely get why they do it and I do not blame them for their decision. They have their eyes on the next prize which is Division 1 hockey and also USA hockey (national team stuff). I believe that there is at least a couple of reasons. ...

Re: Elite league
Black beats White tonight 2-0. Shots pretty even when all said and done. Opinion alert...Black was the better team with better chances in the 1st and 2nd period and White gave a big push and had better chances in the 3rd until a couple of penalties with under 4 minutes to go. I believe goal #1 was s...

Re: Elite league
Black handled Grey pretty easily Tuesday night. Should set Grey up to be ready to kick some tail this weekend.
I am excited to see how all of the colors do against all of those teams that are traveling in for this weekend. I see teams from Cali, Dallas, Canada, and other places have games scheduled.

Re: 2020 Ms. Hockey discussion
I absolutely may be wrong but I do not think that Skelton is at NWC. I believe that it is another player from that team. She is elite and would absolutely make that team much more of a threat in the Lake Conference and sections. Skeltons moved to Monticello over the summer she is playing for NWC Gr...

Don't forget Martin Minnetonka Mashuga Anoka Habisch Buffalo Not in my top 10 (yet?) but absolutely is on the rise and could have a BIG year and make the top 10 is Sophie Urban. Often forgotten like Wayzata as a whole (19-7 overall last season and finished ranked #7 at the Hub) in the extremely tou...

I wish that they had a top 5 for D and then a top D award like they do for the boys. 2020 D top 10: 1. Maggie Nicholson. Minnetonka (Minnesota) 2-10 in alphabetical order (imo they are really all pretty close...some bring a little more O, others a little more D, and others are more balanced) Dornsei...

All just my opinions - and please add names I’ve omitted! Obviously a long season, surprises happen, some kids keep getting better, some stop working hard - but thought I’d kick off a discussion. Well thought out post j4241!!! Thank you for getting this started. I agree with a lot of what you wrote...

Re: Elite league
Great update j4241. Thank you! I was VERY impressed also with the play this late summer and fall of the younger Skipper D. Huge strides (pun intended) from last year. 19 Red has a similar problem to last year. WAY too many D and not enough horsepower up front (numbers or skill wise). Many games have...

Re: Recruiting experience after rule change
I think that a combo of 4 websites can get you the best feel for what is spoken for spot wise. It is a really tough to figure any of this stuff out unless you are the most elite of elite players (or parents). So much unknown in the process and constantly wondering if your kid should be reaching out ...

Re: High school programs #s in Elite league
Since we're yakking about the elite league, let's bring it back to high school... Certainly supports that Edina/Blake/Andover are at a different level. Breck seems to be ready to field another team capable of competing at AA (at every position except parents and administration, apparently). It is p...

Re: Elite league
Heard thru a friend that the Grey team is pretty legit. About 1/2 of the squad played on the U19 white NAHA team + a bunch of other ballers. Red looks to be better than last year but with the best of the rest outside of U19 White/Black & U16 Grey (2020's & 2021's) they are going to be 3-6 go...
