It's also worth noting that Becker- Big Lake has similar enrollment numbers and is also in the same section. Note that no one has commented on their dropping down a class. Clearly it's not the principle of dropping down that's being argued, it's dropping down and possibly giving your team a run for...

5 Hibbing 1 Greenway Obviously the rankings of these 2 teams are going to change this week? Is Hibbing a top 5 team because of this? Is Greenway not a top 10 teams because of this? Should they both be in the 8-10 range? Hibbing 5-9, Greenway 8-12, IMO, having watched this game and also seen Hermant...

They have a decent youth program. They pull in some quality players from their coop schools. They recruite...

Became fine with the move down to A, but when a program moves down, with huge numbers, to Class A and THEN brings in a bunch of foreign exchange students... ? How could anybody out there be fine with that? That only shows an all out attempt at a trophy grab from the start.. There's nothing more I c...

13 players from Annandale and then try to minimalize it .. Hshw was trying to show the other two schools are not important to the coop and shouldn't count towards AA numbers .. I think the extra numbers are very important to them and should have kept them in A. Simple as that! Again, ready to be do...

Litch already has a co-op with Dassel-Cokato. I'd guess with any more schools they'd be awfully close to AA numbers and Dangles would still be whining. For reference, there is 1 current co-op that has combined enrollment bigger than the 64th biggest school who are in AA from not opting up and that ...

Hockey is different than other sports when it comes to numbers. It is one of the only sports/activities that is really hard (impossible?) to jump into in high school. I have been saying for years that I think classes for hockey should be determined by something other than enrollment, since who can p...

Google: Moose have plenty of Annandale skaters Article is from a few years ago, but like I said before, incoming numbers might be lower, but they're probably the schools better athletes. Again, I know that their best player is from Annandale.. So your small numbers, few incoming coop theory, has no...

Good rankings but funny you comment on SPA'S weak schedule, but they play your #4 (twice), #5, #6, #7, #12, #14 (twice), #16, #19 (twice), and #20. Seems like a small school that tries to play a lot of the Class A top schools. You're not wrong about who they play, although it's the second week of t...

Class A Rankings 12-11-16

This week brought a lot of interesting game results. This week was also one of the most difficult I've ranked. There seems to be 8 or so teams that are above the rest, but beyond that it's really in the eye of the beholder. Even the Top 10 has a lot of questions and subjectivity. There are a handful...

Not sure if he's just counting traveling teams. Current numbers seem to be in the 240 range. This s...

Their best player is from Annandale.. A recruited European (by MAML) is on 2nd line.. Who else out of the top 17? Seems they don't want to answer. None of us know, that's why we're asking someone who claims to know... If there is some database that has co-ops' numbers from each team, that would be ...

So much more excitement for hockey now in 5A and programs are getting much STRONGER (youth numbers too) because of it. Hermantown (when in 5A) was a curse for hockey in the area because any talent would leave because of the roadblock they imposed. Monti dropping with the huge numbers , their timing...

I would expect them to be in the section finals their first year with a 50-50 shot at winning that game. I think the biggest speculation question is, "how would being in AA affect Hermantown positively or negatively?" Would being AA attract more players/families and get them to put even better team...
