Re: 3 Privates & EP walk into a pub
Arguably only Sabre had a relatively easy path to Varsity at Edina and he has been a Blake kid since elementary school. I have heard that Dexheimer more or less was told that he had very little shot to play at all for the Varsity the rest of his HS career. He looked to move somewhere that he had a c...

Re: 2020 Section Tournament Scores Thread
It's "all about me", that's why. 100% accurate. I can't tell you how many mites in our association are playing at MN Made. Mites. To be fair, Mites is the best (and probably only good) time to do MN Made. Depends on the association. I am not familiar with ALL associations and their develo...

Re: Play-offs Wednesday 2/26/2020
With two smaller private schools in game 1 and a ton of other games tonight - I don't think it will be that packed - even though it is a great match-up. Also - attendance the last 3-4 years hasn't been what it was 7-8+ years ago. There used to me a line a mile long - now you can walk right up and g...

It's officially go time...bring the strong takes!!! https://www.mngirlshockeyhub.com/news_article/show/1089705 I think that the writer did a great job for the most part. Here are 2 quick thoughts: 1. Uma is the difference maker for the next 3 seasons. Edina was overwhelmed by Andover and will not be...

Yep- rumor has it Edina is getting 4 move ins from Shattuck- and they are not freshmen. https://ssmathletics.org/sports/hockey/girls_prep/2019-20/Schedule  https://ssmathletics.org/sports/hockey/girls_u16/2019-20/Schedule Appears as if SSM is going to go to full on rebuild mode after ...

Re: Breck
I think that the Halverson sisters (8th & 12th and 57 regular season points) from Breck are EHA alumni as well. Also fairly sure that Pettygrove was a Hopkins school kid who played most or all of her youth for EHA so most likely was not gonna be able to play for EHS.

I have thought more and more about this... sotagirlshockey.com had some excellent ideas and thoughts without names. This is a great read and very worthwhile to read prior to the award. Side note: I miss that human's writing about girls hockey. It was so great. https://sotagirlshockey.com/2020/02/11/...

Re: Breck
Well stated Eagles. Agree. Breck has had zero stress in any games since Warroad OT 2 years ago. The west side paper and the HUB has questions about it too: West side paper IS the Hub....duh. Breck is gonna be GOOD next year...really good. They would be the favorite in any section they go to other th...

Re: Andover vs. Edina: Who will take home the trophy?
What a game. Andover was on the attack and aggressive the whole game. They dominated 5v5. Edina was excellent on the PP but other than that total domination by Andover. Wow. Congrats to Andover on a great strategy and tenacity to continue to fight from behind in that game. A great display of MN girl...

Re: Number of Edina Association players on the ice at BIG tomorrow
Edina is a great association and elite in developing talent but their numbers are significant on both the boys and girls side.
Question:
How many of those 10 skaters on teams other than Edina could/would have eventually made it to play Varsity?!?

Re: State Tourney Games Thread
Maple Grove should handle HM pretty easily as there is a pretty big separation between the top 4 seeds and the rest. Oops. By far the most entertaining game of the day, as the previous three were decided by 6, then 5, then 4 goal margins. In this one Hill-Murray has come back with two late second p...

Re: State Tourney Games Thread
Tonka looked really good. Having one of the best 2 lock down D in the state on the ice anytime that it matters is so big. They add so much defensive stability and each of them can be lethal offensively too. Their forwards put the puck on net and then look to be in places to screen, score gritty goal...

Re: State Tournament Seeding
Agree with bodyup. Move Breck to 6AA this year and you would have had 5 teams that are definite favorites against seeds 5-8 in this years tourney. Lots of blowout games and at mostly every tourney on the girls side with quarterfinal games other than the 4-5 and occasional 3-6 game. Especially at the...

Re: State Tournament Seeding
I hope Breck is proud of themselves tonight. What a disgrace. What can the players do in their situation? Their players are amazing. So talented and fun to watch. Not the players fault. Darned if you do and darned if you dont move to AA. Reminds me of this thread: http://www.ushsho.com/forum...

All Metro Teams: https://www.mngirlshockeyhub.com/news_article/show/1087654 Mobley Player of the year...really no argument here with that choice... I have spent more time and posts on the girls side over the years but have been lurking here as well. Many of you probably could care less about and spend zero time on the girls game or reading girls stuff. By far the best content that was created over the last year or two was from a blog called Sot...

Sat with WM & Otown at SLP tonight 😎 It was a VERY IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE by EP. Night & Day better team than the EP team I watched get tied by STA at the Casino Rink (over the Holidays). At least tonight, the line of John M, Ben S. Jackson B. was on fire, best line playing together that I’...

40 saves and zero goals given up by Blaine and goalie Hailey Hanson. Blaine beats Anoka/Spring Lake Park.

Re: Ms. Hockey Finalists
Opinion alert!!! Lots of great thoughts so far. Hard to argue with any of the candidates as all have had nice seasons and in some cases amazing HS careers. Delianedis, Mobley, or Langseth should win imo. Fascinating point that all have made a select USA camp but NONE have made a USA team even for th...

Re: AA Rankings for 1/26/20
I don't have a dog in this fight, but as an outsider, looking at both teams today, I don't see any way that Moorehead isn't the #1 seed. Again, this is based on today, stuff can still change, but 15-3-1 (6-1-1 in section) is far better than 9-7-3 (6-0-1). I do not see a case for the Knights Have no...

Does anybody have the answer how many Class A have won Ms Hockey? Several, including two current Gophers, and a Tiger (Heisse and Zumwinkle, and Bullock): Alex, I mean j4241, who is Dani Cameranisi, Taylor Heise, and Grace Zumwinkle A Blake Bear (like Bullock and Wethington), a Red Wing "Winge...

Lily Delianedis scored 3 goals in 35 seconds last night (against Duluth), on the same shift. That is the third quickest span of three goals in state history. :15 Alyson Niebuir in 2016 :22 Kelly Pannek, in 2012 source: https://twitter.com/coachrath/status/1221160413490040835
