Re: Top 5 Goaltenders
As we’re nearly halfway through the second half of the 2018-2019 season, I thought I’d share my thoughts on the top 5 goaltenders in the state. Many who haven’t played the position may miss or underappreciate the technical aspect and other skills of these young netminders, which I use to determine ...

It’s not a secret to many - but it’s not suitable for an online forum board. Hoping the young man finds happiness in his new adventure.

Re: USHL Draft on May 6th
Guys in the goalie know. Whatever happened to these Minnesota goalies? Isaiah DiLaura - Lakeville South Ryan Ullan - Hibbing Keegan Karki - SCC Ullan and Karki were out at USNP but I lost count on if they are still playing. Karki announced on his Twitter today that he is going to Everett in the WHL...

Lmao - “offered” in March. They’ll all say that
But it’s Sconny, who commits enough players annually to field a varsity and junior varsity D1 team annually.
Didn’t Granato scrub like 10 kids this year?

DiLaura is active at Prince George having played 36 games over the last two seasons per his EP page. Taylor Gauthier is their main guy having logged 87 games in two seasons. Gauthier should be a top 125 draft pick in the 2019 NHL draft.

Re: USHL Draft on May 6th
I did some weak research - I thought Haider skipped his senior year? The kid is a junior? Ben Garrity had a nice year as a backup to Nick Grabko in Minot. Played about 1/3 of the season. MN will add a few goalies to the USHL this year as I think all 3 top 20 picks make their respective team. Yes, t...

Re: USHL Draft on May 6th
Begley was last in the NCDC on the New Jersey Hitmen on the east coast - and after leaving the USHL to the NAHL. One of my favorite high school goalies. I hope that kid plays college hockey (if he wants to).

Re: USHL Draft on May 6th
Very few goalies drafted out of MN (phase 1 or 2). Usual suspects went phase 2 from the NAHL (Haider/Stejskal/Enright). Hobie Hedquist and Anton Castro went phase 1. No HS goalies were drafted. Not Glockner, not boynton. According to the current affiliate lists, neither have rights held. Benjamin F...

Just got a Pm that Glocker has the same goalie coach as the 3 older boys and should get at least a camp invite.

Re: USHL Draft on May 6th
Notable misses? I haven’t looked at the affiliate sheet yet, but there’s always some big misses. Might have missed it , but a bit surprised no one in USHL took a long shot on Glockners rights so far. I guess the current thinking is let goalies slog a year+ In NAHL, and then take a look and make ano...

Re: Top MN Hockey This Weekend
I would hate to judge goalies as I couldn’t give two rats on stats. I want someone who is going to be efficient in net and be square to the puck with the necessary adjustments. Looking back at goalies last few years 2019 17s Louden Hogg 16s Anton Castro 2018 17s Ethan Haider 16s Carter Clafton 2018 ...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
if he's coaching his own TG players on the Blizzard, he's in violation of MSHSL rules. It's no different then Greenway players not eligible to play on Team North or EGF players not eligible to play on Great Plains during the Elite League season. Parkos coaches the Blizzard. Caspers is a goalie for ...

Re: 3 Minnesotan’s land NAHL All Rookie First Team honors plus other league awards
I didn't realize Robb had a son committed to MSUM. Another lost legacy for the Gophers. (No I'm not suggesting they should recruit all of them nor should they be entitled to them. Just an observation) Played at Holy Family thru 10th grade. Left when Moe came along and went to Victory Honda u18 and ...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
I had heard a couple of months ago that there was a Canadian import coming into TG to tend the net next season, but that could have fallen through. TG will be getting a D from Wisconsin. Used to be a solid D, unsure of his ability now vs 2-3 years ago. This is downright comical. So TG is now recrui...

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
Caspers? Caspers did play for the Blizzard where Tim Parkos is a coach... That would sting for Marshall as Caspers was announced as one of their captains for 19-20 at the end of their season. Yikes I had heard a couple of months ago that there was a Canadian import coming into TG to tend the net ne...

Re: Scout's perspective
What is neutral zone hockey? I never heard of it, are they affiliated with NHL teams? Good article No they are not. They basically do scouting reports and articles on junior, college, and NHL prospects. Mostly pay-to-view, but every once in a while they’ll do an “unlocked” story like this. Unlike t...

Re: Top MN Hockey This Weekend
Most of my 16 favorites got the invite, surprised Adam Marshall didn’t make it, Must’ve had a couple mediocre games that I didn’t see Even though goalies rarely are picked on stats - Stark looked solid in giving up one goal all weekend and didn’t make 16s. Castro probably has had more looks based o...
