Re: EP losing a few

I too heard this along with the names of two other current EP juniors who are rumored to be departing, destination unknown. I could see Tbreds being an option for one or both, otherwise what would be the motivation for giving up 1/2 of your senior varsity season at another school? Might be a total ...

Re: EP losing a few

Heard at the superrink this weekend, some defections expected from Eden Prairie. A couple of seniors will not be returning. Might they be headed to TBreds or moving in order to attend another school, it was not clear but word is two or three players definitely leaving. Is there trouble brewing in t...

Re: Stick It To Cancer Tournament

How did the games go yesterday? I watched some great games at the U19 level. The Schwan Blues were very good beating St. Croix Saints 7-0. Also saw the Eastside Eagles who play smart and look to be having fun always. All three of the Walser teams lost which isn't their normal outcome. I didn't go b...

After looking over the list of girls who made it, I am scratching my head after seeing 6 girls from Eden Prairie on the team....6 girls! So the coaches who chose this team can honestly stand up and say there aren't any other girls in the northern half of the state worthy of a spot over some of thos...

My bad. Can you compare it to the team sent to NAHA last Fall (VT)? I thought there were some (at least a couple) similar names. Many of the past U19 from last Summer are College Fr now I believe I just remember the U19 team being absolutely loaded, with most of the Ms. Hockey finalists and other w...

Re: Classic Lake and Section 6AA

Classic Lake and Section 6AA... There are a number of teams that could win these two - wide open if you ask me as there are so many good teams in both... ghs, that's not much of a "prognostication", which invariably means some element of guesswork! How about something you're more f...

Classic Lake and Section 6AA

Sorry, but I did not mean to come off like BSM is not going to be a VERY GOOD team this year, they will be. I was just kind of wishing and hoping that they won't be a threat I guess. But they did loose Rielly,Perushek and Trunzo and that will sting a little. I know they have Bacon and a great group...

Re: post 7758

This thread is tough if your team is not affiliated with a conference. boblee, this is an open thread - you could post your thoughts on the teams in Section 7. I am curious about Duluth - based on what you've heard will they stay the same cooperative as last year, and how will they be based on grad...

So what's your prognosis of the conference you are most interested in - I assume it's somewhere in the SE Metro?

This roster does not look at all like last year's U19 Icecats team.

Re: post 7755

Did the one year trial of "North Metro" become a permanent solution? I believe ghs posted elsewhere that each of these cooperative teams much obtain approval from the League each year. So if the number of players should go up significantly on one or more of the participating teams, this c...

Thanks, brookyone, for clarifying what's going on.

The fact that the girls' dad was there at the news conference introducing the new coach can't be a good sign for Minnesota.

I just wanted to say thanks to Brian for all the work he has put into the girls part of this forum the past few years. Also, the KRACH ratings, great opinions, etc. It has been a blessing to the "bored" to have you around. Ditto what boblee said! It wouldn't be the same without him - less...

As much as I love the gophers, I'm not surprised that any UND coach may be accused of seeing how solid those verbals actually were from the twins. I might have missed something on this elsewhere, but was it reported somewhere that the new North Dakota coach is actively recruiting these two after th...

I'm new to posting on here but I will say this much I don't think Edina will be Number One next year to youg and lost to much to repeat. This is how I see it. Hopkins will be very strong but still has some weak areas. Wayzata last 3 players but has strong SR forewards this year. Armstrong lost a to...

Although Minnetonka should be improved it will take more than 3 or 4 talented girls moving up from U14 to make Minnetonka a real contender. My predicted order of finish in the Classic Lake: 1. Edina 2. Hopkins 3. Wayzata 4. Minnetonka 5. Armstrong Of course I should add the usual caveat: I could be ...

I was able to see 3 of the 1991 games. The North team did themselves proud by going 4-0 and did it mostly by playing more as a team than the other teams. It was almost like they did have a chance to practice together beforehand (and to the best of my knowledge they did not) whereas the other teams p...

Re: wow

I do think Hopkins is a legit top 10 team next year, but I would anticipate that Press will be a BSM kid like her older sister. If the transfer rumor is true, the player they are getting is very good, along with the possibility of a top level player who left last year maybe returning. They should b...

I came across a couple of the old thick programs that you used to be able to purchase at the Selects tournaments in St. Cloud, and just for the heck of it I compared the '91 West roster from 2005 with this year's Phase II NDP camp for the 16's (also '91's). I was surprised to see so many common name...

I hear Schwann's has a nice team too. I understand the score was 4-3 Icecats, and it took a late goal to win it.

My question is, when a super team is formed and they dominate all other teams, are they getting the utmost developmental experience? In hockey at least, there are Jr. Gold (boys) and U19 (girls) as an option to high school athletics. At our school these past two years there were a couple of girls who made it known to the coaches before tryouts that they did not want to play varsity, instead choosing to play JV's, even though bot...

The ice cats are stacked all right, but it should be interesting to see if their chemistry is any better this year... from what I've heard in the past, many of the girls couldn't stand each other... we'll see if that's changed this year. I'd be interested in knowing where this information came from...

I was surprised that Allie Thunstrom, who had a great year at Boston College and one of the best high school players to ever come out of Minnesota, did not make the final National team this year. Anyone have any insight to what happened in the selection process?
