Re: Top 5 Goaltenders
Yeah they load up because why not? At least one or two practice goalies but then if they want they can give them games in NA3HL or U18 AAA leagues. NAHL has a great history of developing high end goalies but unfortunately they have a long list of goalies who have been buried on the rosters.

Re: Top 5 Goaltenders
With the USHL/NAHL drafts now completed, it seems to be another decent year for MNHS goalies moving on to juniors. Too early to tell on how it'll all shake out, but by my count we have the following (apologies if I missed any): Pinney - tendered to St Cloud of NAHL Hodges - drafted by Austin in NAH...

Re: Podcast
Fun podcast. Great to hear all three of them discuss HS Hockey again. Towards the end when they discussed how USHL is not just a given for many of these high school players, it reminded me of something else. If there is no college hockey season or it is severely diminished, there are theoretically s...

Re: 2AA outlook
Agree with BB. PL made a heckof a run late last year. Tonka- Im assuming Hendy and Hupka will skate varsity to bolster the solid returning core EP- MSHSL decision will impact which of the returning D1 kids if any might be early departs Chaska- Hurt by early departure of Snugs to NTDP. Hearing star ...

Re: 2AA outlook
Minnetonka has the benefit of great depth and a lack of super high end guys that are flight risks. Big question mark is goaltending. PL similar story but with two very high end goalies. EP is the opposite. Lots of potential for guys who are doing before/after to pull a Bobby Brink/Blake McLaughlin a...

WOM: The reason people aren’t answering your questions is because they have already been discussed several times in several threads. Your questions #1 (myocarditis) and #2 (children spreading vs not spreading) are both far from settled science and we have discussed on numerous occasions each of thes...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?
For anyone who says we can’t fully return to normal until we develop a vaccine, we need to keep in mind that there is a real chance that day never comes. We’ve never developed a successful vaccine for a coronavirus. If that’s the case it’s not reasonable to expect society to just hole up forever. P...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?
Oh yes and to your question that nobody has answered yet about the number of preventable deaths that we are willing to accept, I think a fair answer would be: roughly the same number of “excess deaths” for medical related issues and excess serious health conditions compared to what we see in a norm...

Wise Old Man, without forcing you into another novel, I just want to bring up that many doctors can’t even agree on the so called “facts” that you allude to being on your side. KFAN bumper to bumper show has a regular doctor from Mayo and he and another doctor they had on previously both stated that...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?
Wise Old Man, regarding coaching levels, I think but I’m not positive that they recently did away with the level requirements for older ages. So a level 1 can coach mites or can coach bantams. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong there.

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?
To clarify....after re-reading my post, it's obvious some of you will accuse me of talking out of both sides of my mouth as I first stated that MH wouldn't allow for the formation of U-16/18 Tier I/II teams but, then later saying that there could be some positives moving forward if we eliminated hi...

Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?
If you wanted to keep the same coaching staffs, one major hurdle would be that many high school coaches are not USA Hockey certified, which they would need to be, and who knows if there are any certification classes happening right now? Maybe online only? The other major piece would be funding and ...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring
So what you guys are saying is” give me high school hockey or I’ll take my kid elsewhere”? Very mature. You guys were the kids who said I quit and took the ball home with you so no one else could play! MSHSL should not make decisions based on others decision to not follow the rules or put their kid...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring
I was referring to the amount of money hockey generates through Sections and the state tournament and tv revenue. Football doesn’t produce more revenue. Yes it does. Section money goes to the section for all sports. By law the MSHSL gets US Bank stadium rent free, same as the Metrodome. The state d...

Re: Covid Masks while Playing?
My son is doing a youth summer camp at a city run arena this year. Right now, they have to wear a mask going into the building, inside the locker room while getting dressed, and then it can come off when they are ready to put their helmet on. Once they are off the ice, the mask goes on when they ar...

Re: Summer Scrimnages
The MDH isn’t allowing indoor competitions until at least July 29th. The MSHSL is following that guidance/edict. I doubt any school will go Townball on the MSHSL. Not saying you’re necessarily wrong, but can you provide a link to this info? Just last week the MDH said July 1st for indoor competitio...

But if spectators are allowed , the Edina Mayor with support of city Council will in all likelihood have passed a citywide “wear a mask indoor“ rule by then. Unless there is an exception for indoor athletic spectators , versus people working or entering Edina offices or going to shopping malls for ...

So if you don’t think it’s 99.9999%, then what do you think it is? You’re admitting you don’t know the exact number. So why not 99.9%? You’re right, I’m definitely not saying it’s like the flu. It’s pretty established that this is an order of magnitude worse for the population as a whole. When you b...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?
I am in my mid 50’s now.....I went to college, then joined the Army, I went into teaching after that. When I first got out of the Army I was a teacher and a football coach in small town Iowa. After a couple of years my school, like many at the time, had budget cuts and my position was cut. However,...
