Re: Is Greenway turning into Hermantown?
Well, I guess we will find out soon enough. If Smalley leaves CEC, I wonder who the Lumberjacks would be looking at. I don’t think Smalley is going anywhere. I also don’t think he applied for CSS job Your wrong on your last comment, he applied. I don't know if he had all the qualifications, but he ...

Not sure how you would see it as a step backwards? I don't know for a fact but it has to pay more the high school salary of 5 thousand. Must be more recognition / better opportunities. Smalley applied for CSS job and didn't get an interview Madson coach of Wilderness applies, interviews and gets the...

4 out of 80. That’s a lot of applicants. I think they have a nice hockey program there at CSS. Tim Madsen is new CSS HC Great hire for CSS! Now that opens another HC coaching position with the Wilderness. Wonder who will apply for that job? Smalley? I would have to think he's the front runner

Hermantown misses out on a very good hockey player in Gernander’s kid. He could have been a teammate with his cousin Darian Gotz. Hibbing hockey puts out some serious talent in hockey that’s for sure. I can see them making several runs at state after hermantown exits A ihigh school hockey in a year...

Smalley the next head coach of St Cloud State? Didn't go to st cloud though Larson wanted him, hear St Scholastica has encouraged him to apply and is on their short list! Yes I hear Smalley, Jago, Corey Millen and Esse are on the short list for the CSS job Bruce Plante? Plante? No way, why would he...

Re: Is Greenway turning into Hermantown?
Looks like Greenway is getting a transfer from Hibbing. This will make Greenway’s offense even more potent. Another player (not from Hibbing) is interested in transferring too, though this is more of a rumor. Hockey players have been leaving Hibbing early or transferring somewhere else for years no...

Re: Final AA Rankings 2018
I think the new staff is awesome - just different. We’ve got a 3 year window at CEC. As far as talent on the ice, next years talent is the most we’ve had on a high school roster ever - from top to bottom. We are being overlooked. That’s fine. I’m just saying the majority/media would not be overlook...

False! PHM did no recruiting. Fake news!! OK Johnny Trump. You're like a parrot. Hermantown boys and the Mirage has been recruiting for years. Like I said you even tried taking a couple of our girls a few years back. Did those 7 girls move into the district? No of course not. Now that the silver sp...

Re: GR vs C-E-C
If last week didn't cause Kniven to lose it and require CPR, maybe this result will: GR - 4 CEC - 3 That may put CEC and DE on the same side of the 7AA bracket. This up and down stuff is for the birds. I left after the second period. The boys were more interested in fighting than playing ho...

WTH? Rapids up 3-0 on Cloquet in the 1st. Holy smokes Yep. I think the boys want the 5 seed in the playoffs. Be positive Kniven. But to be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if Rapids wins. A Smalley coached team tends to get upset at times throughout the year; big win over East and then take a loss. ...

I was told the AD from Moorhead and Andover contacted CEC. I'm sure those programs have their reasons. Like I said, I sure enjoyed playing those squads! Moorhead to Cloquet is at least a 4 hour drive. Might be more road time than they are willing to spend. Doubt it; Moorhead is keeping road games t...

Like what. Excellent question. You would have to ask people on this forum that question who know me. Maybe I don’t really do anything. It’s about perception I guess. Heck, start a thread on me. Take a poll, and see what they say. Or talk to coaches, players, the kids, parents or fans in general. Ma...

I won’t be there tonite. I think Hermantown is a lot like the New EnglandPatriots in the NFL. Their system is so dang empressive each year. Lumberjacks have their hands and everything else full tonight. I think Hermantown wins in their barn in Hermantown. The game is scheduled to be streamed on www...
