This is too good for me to pass up.
Giles is the furthest thing from a teacher one can get. People can argue about his coaching abilities. But a teacher? Certainly not.

We've had this discussion before. One should be able to assume that the families of these young men made the decision to forego high school and NCAA hockey after giving it alot of thought. If they stay healthy, the WHL guys will play in at least 40 games this season, games that will always be more c...

How did I miss this thread? I guess I'm a little late to this conversation. I've been reprimanded before as I've previously added my opinion about the boys in green, so I will use nice words this evening. Assuming the coaching staff does not screw things up, this group could be as strong as any Edin...

This is not meant in any way to be a knock on the kids or the family - I have absolutely no connection to the situation and no idea what factors they considered, and I don't doubt for a second that they made this decision after a lot of thought - but does anyone have any idea why the Walker kids ha...

You clowns are brutal. There is very little difference between his interview and most interviews with athletes. He sounds like most 16 year old kids sound. He sounds perfectly cogent to me. And you all have no idea what the circumstances of the interview were. Perhaps there was no preparation at all...

Bafata - You make less and less sense everytime you speak on here. You are so personally attached to this Edina program, and obviously have some personal past with some of the coaches. It's time to give it up buddy. What's harder to please? An Edina hockey parent or Bafata. I was gonna use Pamela A...

Re: Jaremko made it.
Looks like final rosters for both 16s and 17s are posted: http://assets.ngin.com/attachments/document/0027/2971/Boys_16_s_National_List_2012.pdf Only taking 11 forwards? No Tyler Nanne? That has to hurt  He is now listed on a roster at the national camp. How does that happen? Kind of like his ...

I wish these kids well. Glad they've got it all figured out. Age 15 or 16, the age of the Breck kid when he played his one game with the Winterhawks, is a bit young to have so much clarity on the rest of your life. I am not understanding the criticism. The Breck kid [and we should assume, his famil...

Re: How Minnesotans did in the draft
Let's hear about Minnesota-connected guys getting drafted and your opinions. That includes MSHSL players, Shattuck, National Development, college, U.S. juniors, WHL, etc. Where did they go? Too low? Too high? Anyone missed? Nanne to the Wild in Round 7. So Lucia's offer is vindicated now, right? :r...

Tigers, you say you know more about Edina hockey than I do but then you also say you have nothing to do with Edina. Not sure how that works. Maybe I have alot to do with Edina hockey or maybe I know people who do and share with me their insights. You assume I am young. Maybe I'm young and maybe I'm ...

Bafata - Your response to that? It looks like there might be something to what green4 is saying. Walker left, so you cant include him anyways. Many coaches cut seniors with off ice issues and attitude problems, not just Giles. Let's see: taking someone with off ice issues?; would not have been the ...

I can take a shot at this. Edina's best chance to win state this year would've included the following guys who should have been there [some were not because of their own questionable choices and others because they were cut] B. Walker, L. Nanne, Hurley Hardacker, Brauer, Malmquist Dietzler, Blanak, ...

Yes, I read Blades of Glory, many years ago. I understand the culture of Minnesota high school hockey. I've been around the block a few times. Just because Saterdalen or Ikola coached a certain way does not make it right [in fact, I've heard from Edina alum, that Ikola would not move guys up and dow...

Bafata - Give it up! You got cut. No biggie. I am sure your family still likes you. Let me ask you folks this. Who has had the most talent in the last five years from any 1 high school program? Edina is not the one that immediately comes to mind. And in those last 5 years how many times as Giles be...

Well, I have seen the typical WHL contract. If I remember it correctly, the player gets one year of college paid for when he commits/signs; and then gets another year paid for when he plays in a game. The third year would be paid for when he plays in a game in the following season. Based on this, a...

If a player is not getting recruited by Lucia by the time he plays in the Model Camp, playing in the Model Camp is not going to get him recruited by Lucia.
