What makes a great association?

Some associations are always dominant and others are not. It can't simply be about numbers as some smaller associations still thrive and others with big numbers are not. Which are the best? Recruiting? (as in getting kids in the city to come out for hockey) I once heard WBL did a great job at this. ...

They didn't update the Sunday championship scores yet? I know U10 was OS black vs Miracle Gold and MG handled them in pool play. U12 didn't have a championship round. Not sure who was the best without the Sunday scores. U14 was OS Selects vs Blades in the ship and OS beat them easily in the pool pla...

If FL wants to use travel as their reason for voting to go D10, so be it. However, it's not because of competition for the boys( their teams were far down in their respective standings) , nor the younger girls of Wi beating their teams. My friend at the meeting indicated this is a boys' driven deci...

frI from what I understand is that associations can choose to either have two A teams or an A and a B team. I think if you have two A teams they have to be equal. Am I right? and is this a MN Hockey rule? http://www.d6hockey.net/standings/show/1458578?subseason=192292 Edina Green was your state cha...

Everyone should play A, nobody should play B, everyone gets a trophy, all teams should be even so nobody feels bad. Exactly the opposite of what they do in the boys Bantams.

This can't be a Minnesota Hockey rule, can it?

Forest Lake had the most talented depth Roseau was pretty solid top to bottom. big goalie and #4 is fast St. Paul had the biggest disparity from top to bottom talent and don't have the depth for 3 games in 3 days...goalie can always keep you in it. If they had a mediocre goalie they wouldn't be in t...

Re: A Few Takeaways from the Meltdown - Girls Side

2000 Machine is still playing together! We will be playing in Clash at U19level. We have added 3 98's and a 99 to our roster for this tourney. It's a great group of athletes and very fun to coach. The U19 level will be a challenge for them, but I think they will hold their own. Good for them! Its g...

Thanks I realize that if I ask this 12 months from now, the names may change but its fun to see what others see/think. I know a lot of those names and were all good when I saw them last but it might have been a year ago when I last saw them. I believe these are all 7th. How about 8th? Wethington is ...

Who are the best players on those teams? 7th and 8th (OS, Machine, Ice Cougars, STE, etc) Most of the players on this list: http://www.youthhockeyhub.com/news_article/show/404328?referrer_id=1280009 play on the 02 Machine, the 01 and 01/02 O/S Selects, STE and the Ice Cougars. The 01 team has to be better than the 01/02 team. They are all 8th graders that played varsity (many of them) vs kids that played U12 or pee wee. It may not be a blowout but one would think 2-3 goals better. The thing with OS teams as you never know who will be there due to other sport conflicts so...

U12 would be 02 and 03 so you are half right. The 02's could play U12 but the 7th grade 01's are still legit U14 and can't play U12

Good question on the Jr Whitecaps Anything 8th grade and above is still the old way. I have no idea how Winny will deal with that down the road when the 7th and younger kids get to that age when Jr Whitecaps is an option. She might keep it the same as it currently is and just invite who she thinks i...

I spoke with Winny a while ago and she told me she does things differently with her OS teams than most AAA programs and now even does it differently than she used to. Its a little confusing so here is the clarification She used to do 98's, 99's, 00's, etc just like everyone else. Two years ago she d...
