To help me understand this, can you tell me which players on last year's varsity team open enrolled at Hermantown, where they are from and when they changed to Htown school district. Thanks. The discussion by the HAHA board and what many of us have seen first-hand is at the Youth Level, not the Hig...

You jokers that are accusing Hermantown of recruiting don't have a clue what you are talking about. Looks like these Joker's aren't the only ones. From the HAHA August Board Meeting Minutes: 15. Membership questions Re: PWAA non-parent coach not available: Janzig noting that if a nonparent can be f...

The article does state there is now a waiting list for most grades. People want their kids in this district primarily for the schools. Of the 20% that have successfully open enrolled I would bet few are even hockey players. Like I said, my sophomore has not seen any changes in who he has played wit...

I think you forgot about Parker Hawk, Dylan Samberg, Logan Judnick and Eric Gotz. They did not play Mites at Hermantown. The climate has changed a lot since my kids played even. It's light years from 2005. Last year's Hermantown Squirt A team had kids from all over. Six different Associations accor...

Minor point, but "Hermantown is up in AA beating Edina, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and Duluth East.", it's really more like Hermantown is up in AA beating Wayzata, Roseville, Hopkins, Grand Rapids, WBL, Brainard and Bemidji - looking at the past recent history of their schedule. I don't so...

Bring back one class tournament, sweet sixteen format and let's do this right. 8) Not a bad suggestion, but it would be easier if teams that play against AA competition all throughout youth levels and the high school regular season would just decide to play against AA competition during the HS play...

Re: Class A hockey

Making the early prediction- Virginia blue devils, will be in the tournament in 2018-2019 seasons! Go blue! You must be assuming that Hermantown moves up to AA starting in 17-18. I'd love to see an Iron Range team win 7A, but until the Hawks go to AA I don't think anyone has a realistic shot. I wat...

Wish I had some good info, but there's mostly rumors at this point. -Coach appears to be out, rumors circulating about why, but nothing definite. Haven't heard anything about possible replacement. -Goalie Ullan tried out for the NTDP, and I have yet to hear if he was invited or if so, if he accepted...

Hibbing? How long has the coach from last year been there? They've got some serious talent on the ice too.
He'd been the coach for three seasons. No idea what happened.

How about single A? Hermantown will be awesome again, unless there are some serious defections to juniors. They do lose 3 of their top 4 D and their goalie, but they return 5 of their top 6 forwards, the goalie will be a talented senior, there are some bantam stars that will be contributors next se...

In addition....while the coming class of '17 will be even better than this year's team based on their performance at the bantam and peewee levels, there's a drop off in the talent of the couple of classes after that--again based on performance at the youth levels. I see that you agree that Hermanto...

Teams like Wayzata, EP LN etc. that have 10 Bantam teams. East has 5-6 BN teams and clearly has recruited. How many kids do you think don't make the HS team? Hermantown actually given many more kids to a awesome hockey experience that it has prevented. You guys can go crawl in your hole and vote fo...

Hermantown has gutted the Twig program. Many of the Twig parents (Pike Lake & Saginaw area) wrestle with the difficult decision of moving schools by the fourth grade in fear that their kid will get left behind in hockey. Yes, this is not recruiting, but sad that as a society we have become so o...

Where did you read that I said it was closed? What I did say is that the school is full and it can be tough to get in. I'd say 97.8 % is just about full would you not? I also said that, with the closing of Central, anybody in the Kenwood and Duluth Heights area would be crazy not to consider Herman...

Honestly I don't even know if Hermantown actively recruits. But when they built a great program, they attract talent from a large metro area that has a hockey tradition. All the schools you mentioned play at the highest level. Herm should follow suit. Why wouldn't they want to??? The vast majority ...

Yes, it is a no-brainer. I get that you're asking an honest question, but this "middle of the pack" idea has been used by Hermantonians as an excuse for a while. My response to that would be "Should Hermantown wait to opt up until they are top 3 in AA every year?" Here's a list o...

Who will make a run next year? Eden Prairie, Stillwater and Grand Rapids have tons of young players coming back. If Middlested stays then these three could be contenders along with who? Holy Family? BSM? Hill Murray? Edina? Mtka? Wayzata? Who are the way too early favorites next year? It's always i...

Why does everyone say it stinks when 7AA has to play 8AA in QF's? What would the forum response be if 2AA had to play 6AA in the QF's? Would that stink too? 😢 Did you like the movies "Miracle" or "Hoosiers"? People love an underdog story. In general, the northern teams are alway...
