Not a big surprise. A lot of people just don't like the cross-ice mandate, or any mandate for that matter. "New boss...,same as the old boss." My guess is with just a bit of searching you can find a huge crowd of people that hate the AAU rules regarding whichever sport they are in. I've n...

I don't know that D2 will have much to say. In general District 2 has not gotten involved in how associations choose the members of their teams other than to say that multiple teams at the same level must be even strength. Thus if NSP chooses a process that puts all B-E kids on the same team it will...

According to what I've heard, the intent is for Bauer-Emerson to have their own team within the NSP association at each of the non-T1 levels for their students only. Could be bad info and didn't hear what level they will play at. Anyone know if this is accurate?

Their interest will be purely ego and financial driven, but there will be lots of them. A few teams will lead to many, just as pretty much all summer teams are called "AAA". But wouldn't MN Hockey have control over the number they sanction? IL only has 4 Tier 1 teams. To my knowledge they...

FL kicks out a fair share but has been rarely represented on the D2 teams. Either they are all late bloomers, their talent compass is off or the system is flawed :?:

Re: Laptops

HF21, I agree with some of what you have said but: .... Is hand picking WHICH school/youth association you attend based on your chances of winning and losing a good life lesson? This is called freedom of choice or capitalism and what our country is built on. ...What happened to the life lessons of b...

I only know what the Tournament Director told me. I am speaking of the NAPS Midwest Tournament - May 10-12th in Chicago for clarity. Besides does it matter? The point is that the popularity and/or knowledge of this event is not high with MN as the director recognized in our conversation a week prior...

http://www.legacyglobalsports.com/page/show/665292-about-us  Yes it's real. Same organization runs NAPS AAA tournamanents. Midwest is in Chicago as well as events in Bufalo and Boston. Players can register for these as individuals or as a team. They are used as scouting events for the world ...

Yes very good article. The Edina PWAA team played in a Tier 1 2001 Showcase? I do believe half of the Edina PWAA team are 2000 birth years? They should have done well since they are playing teams with all players younger then them? Why play teams younger, they should have played against 2000 teams?...

This is confusing. Did he think he was ready to play for Gophers as true freshman and then found out he wasn't? Don't you usually play in the WHL in order to get to DivI? Once you play in the WHL (Canadian Major Juniors) you loose US College eligibility. USHL/NAHL is a more common route if you want...

Minnesota's best asset is our hockey culture and the thousands of kids that enter community-based associations every year as mites. It's a system worth defending with good rules (including the residency rule) and managament, as well as quality coach training. So in this system, how does MNH ensure ...

There is a solution do away with residency/school rule and give consumers freedom of a choice. For Tier II associations in IL they have a Two Choice rule. You can reg with any association to start, if unsatisfied you can make one move to a second choice association. After that you can only return to...

I'm very cautious about Machine Black in our rankings system. Any team that can draw from the Machine Orange is not really a rankable team by my standards. I know I may face some criticism for this, but a team is a team. One player per roster is how I choose to rank. Then by this theory you need to...
