Re: 7A - Thoughts

7A could be interesting next year. It will definitely be Denfeld's best and maybe only shot to win it. Hermantown graduates Biondi and two very good Transfers. They will have three very talented returning Senior Transfers and a Junior Transfer who should take a big step up. They will also have the P...

Yes, Flaherty was very well liked and respected around here. But I’m not sure what you mean by “taken into account.” How does that affect their current situation?

Re: No northern team makes the tourney this year

Yes, Andover is the favorite but them coming out of 7AA is far from a given. It's been said how much they rely on their D for offense. That makes it a little more unpredictable. Assuming East can win the Flake rematch, they have to get by them and a Randolph game plan first. If they manage that, Cl...

Re: Future of Duluth Marshall

Denfeld isnt an option why would DD ever want that? Im hearing that DM and Proctor are in the preliminary talks and rumor has it Scott Pionk would be the new coach I think Denfeld would want that but the School District could be an obstacle. Things are great at Denfeld now but it will be tough agai...

Re: Future of Duluth Marshall

Duluth Marshall is going to figure something out for next year. I trust this. Lots of options, 1 option, or very little in options. Move back to A is a certainty. Co-op with Hermantown or Denfeld or Proctor or nobody. And just build back up on your own. All the best, Hilltoppers 👍 It won't be Proct...

All you have to do is provide an address in the District where the kid is living. That’s good enough for the AD.

Re: Rock Ridge Wolverines

Certainly mixed feelings: it is sad to see a name like the Eveleth Golden Bears disappear from the hockey landscape (and the entire high school landscape as well as this isnt just a hockey story) in lieu of a generic name like "Rock Ridge" However: its just the reality these communities o...

I have a Dream

In honor of the recent holiday in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, I have a dream today. I don’t have a kid that plays anymore and I don’t have a team that I care enough about to win. My only concern at this point is how player movement will ruin this game, and it’s already happening.,, So her...

Re: 7AA 2019-2020

From a PageStat perspective, this is the weakest 7AA has been since PageStat has been in existence (1997-98), and it took a non-traditional 7AA team (Andover) to keep it from being an absolute dumpster fire. They're fifth in average rating, besting only 4AA, 1AA and 5AA. Lee Good analysis Lee. Exce...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

No chance they would be the favorite every year with just there own players. When that was so they were a easy out. They would be competitive but not the favorite every year. They wouldn't be AA competitive every year at youth levels either I have to admit that I have not dived that deep into Herma...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

Why is it so difficult for people to realize that Hermantown does not have a magical potion or secret sauce, it is simply they have a good base program and then add a few of the areas top squirts, pee wees, bantams, and hs players every year. Simply put it is a numbers game. They take there base an...

Obviously would love to see Rapids or East go, but those Huskies are damn good this year. I will be rooting for the North in the Section Playoffs but if Andover comes out they’re my team. Unless Roseau is there too.

Best D Pair-Class A Aamodt-Gotz : Ironically, neither of these two were the best defenseman on the team (Samberg, who was injured most of that season, I believe.) None of those three were actually Hermantown kids though, so maybe they got docked for that? I’m not sure what the criteria was. Aamodt ...

Duluth East just lost 8-0 today has that ever happened to coach Mike Randolph before? Shocking to say the least. I know they lost 7-1 to Andover but this seems crazy. East's worst loss under Mike. Andover looks really good. Can they survive that brutal, torturous, murderous, custom coach bus drive down I-35 though? That’s the question. That’s a lot for any group of young, well conditioned athletes to overcome.

Good rankings, but until someone knocks off Warroad, I would have them at #1. This is coming from a guy to the west too! I totally understand that position, and it’s a debate I have with myself nearly every week. Warroad has defeated the two teams ranked right behind them, along with TRF. Hermantow...
