In my opinion, the HM/WB rivalry is declining. In the past, those games always seemed competitive and the teams were pretty close in talent. Out of curiosity, which rivalries would people rank ahead of this one? I wouldn't really argue with two: Warroad-Roseau (though that one has zero playoff significance) and WBL-Hill (which is, historically, much more lopsided than East-Cloquet). What else? Never seen a game in the Cloquet/East rival...

It's great that the semis for this section are on Tuesday this year instead of the usual Wednesday night. I now can catch the section final games at Mariucci the following night.

With Tartan just losing 3-0 at home to Duluth East. I would now put the Bears as the #2 seed. This is how I see it playing out.

1- Hill Murray
2- WBL
3- Tartan
4- Moundsview
5- Roseville
6- Stillwater
7- NSP
8- Como

I would be a bit surprised if it was different than this.

I went last year and had no trouble getting tickets. So anyone concerned about being turned away shouldn't worry.

WBL needs to win this one to leave no doubt in the coaches mind about them being the 2 or 3 seed. A loss, and the Raiders would have an argument for being seeded higher with a season sweep of the Bears. I don't see that happening tonght tho, Bears take this one 4-2.

2 and 3 really don't matter, my guess is based on strengh of schedule only. Of course if Tartan beats Duluth East, things change.

IF Tartan wins out, and I said if...or if they end up beating DE....a win over DE would qualify as a legit, top-end team type victory. We will see what happens the next 8 days here. Most likely you'll get WBL/Tartan in the 2 and 3 seed anyway...I think WBL getting swept by Hastings may be what hurt...

If Tartan wins out, which will be very tough to do - they have to be #2. May be #2 even if they win 2 of 3...as WBL to me has no marquee wins, granted they have played a more difficult schedule but if you lose them all I don't want to hear about it...I don't think it matters anyway HM will have to ...

Hill will win state. Besides Hill 4AA is weak. It's not as weak as 1AA but its still a weak section. Hill will continue to dominate that weak section till they get a decent team in there to challenge them. They really should redo all the sections. Bears looked very good tonight. The defense has been remarkably better, Gorman's been solid in the net, and the Wahlin line has really been generating some grade A scoring chances. Hopefully they can keep this momentum going with no setbacks heading into sections!

Last game between these two resulted in a 2-0 Bears win. I expect it to be another lower scoring game. I'll take the Bears to win this one 3-2.
