Re: Where are you coming from?

I'm not attacking you at all, just saying as a general statement. I see many people come from a private school, and when you try to attack and take away the personal accomplishments just cuz they went to the private school, that's not fair.

Re: RL

Saying that AHA would be part of Richfield is bogus. So, then STA is part of Mendota Heights, right? You look at the enrollment at these private schools and the numbers of people from the city the school is in probably isn't above 20%. There is a public school in just about every city and about ten ...

totally seperate?

Okay, so are they totally seperate or not? Everyone always talks about going up through the ranks and staying with your program. If they're totally seperate, why are people trying to claim this? And even if they're not, what are they saying about every school except Blake that doesn't have a Bantam ...

Lack of feeder programs

I mention this in my post about AHA. From my limited knowledge, private schools don't have the bantam, and lower, level play that public do. Many have bashed private schools as a whole for taking from other programs, but if all kids kept with the program they started with, there wouldn't be private ...

Thanks goldy. Exactly what I was trying to get at, but with my limited, but growing, knowledge of the sport, it was harder for me.

SOG

Yeah, it seems like such a flawed system. Sure most of the time it works, but I was just trying to point out that it doesn't always, that's all.

Loose analogy

Fine, loose analogy, I'll give you that. But there are many times I see people take shots that everyone in the arena could tell you would be blocked. Sure, the goalie is only human and maybe could miss. But with lots of those shots, where they get one more shot added to the SOGs, they could have wai...

actually 5

Okay, I will admit to being wrong, the first time but where does this 5th goal come in. And no, sorry, it does change the percentage, only to 27% from 33% (my math was wrong when I corrected myself), but not to match that of Moorhead. To match that of AHA they'd have to have had 11 goals, which then...

Shots on goal

I made a post in the forum about AHA talking about the state championship game last year against Moorhead. The score was 6-4 AHA and the shots on goal were 42-18 Moorhead. Someone was attempting to say that AHA was totally dominated. My point is that the team that "totally dominated" them ...

my bad

Okay, sorry, that would change it to 27% and 9.5%. My numbers were off, but the point is totally the same. Not saying anyone is wrong in anything about quality shots, but I'm just saying that they made a better portion of their shots.

reply to shots on goal

I don't remember the championship game last year vividly enough to know if all the shots taken were good quality, but the way I look at it is that the score was 4-2 AHA and the shots 42-18 Moorhead. That means that AHA made 22% of their shots and Moorhead just under 5%. Lots of shots on goal are the...

AHA

ajdjkdk hit the nail right on the head. When you're a coach of that calliber, you don't need to recruit. I don't know a lot about how younger leagues work, so I could be wrong, but AHA is a private school that starts at 9th grade. The younger bantam teams aren't from AHA, they would be from Richfiel...

AHA

So, the common theme I've seen in posts about them is that they are a private school. The reason the kids WANT to play for them is because they have a good coach. This can happen with public schools too, and it does. I'd be willing to bet there isn't a single city public school where the roster is t...

Re: Shakopee

Okay, so they have a good player, sweet man. Holy Angels has like four lines of them. He's a good player with a decent team to support him, and he's able to win games against not good teams. None of us are arguing against the nice record or that Rein is a good player, just saying that they're not th...

Shakopee

I could be wrong, which I'm not, but Shakopee hasn't played anyone good yet that they've beat. Orono is doing all right, and they managed a tie. In response to the one player being hurt, that's why it's called a team, a team isn't one player, it's the whole team, one being hurt is no excuse. And if ...

So much for not beating this to death

So much for not beating this to death. STA did lose, but they were able to score on Breck. Red Wing tied Lourdes, and STA almost shut them out, what someone would call a lucky shot went in. STA hung in there with hill and lost to NSP. Geez, okay, so we've determined that it is a game not played on p...

Re: STA

Wow, that was a nice one. So, first off, when they lost to NSP, they didn't have a losing record. STA is good, but with Hibbing beating Warroad, I think saying they can get by Hibbing is a long shot at this point. They also were close to beating Hill Murray. This is why people play sports though, if...

STA

Almost beat STA in the playoffs last year? STA has beat the Lourdes, including this year, the last 4 times they have met up. The section game last year, STA scored early in the first, and Rochester scored one within minutes of the end of the game. They were completely dominated and managed to get on...
