I'd switch Hibbing to #2 and Greenway to #3 after this week's showing. Greenway could not hold two goal leads against Alex and Rosemount. Their power play is practically nonexistent. They had a five minute major man advantage and had one scoring threat. It will be interesting to see if Clafton reins...

Greenway and Rosemount tied 3-3. Greenway lost another player (forward) for disciplinary reasons. He got a misconduct last night for saying something to the ref. The defensemen sat out another game. A second defensemen got a misconduct today for saying something to the ref. Lot of attitude with some...

Didn't mean to sound like the reason the game was close was because Greenway played poorly. New Ulm had some nice passing and was physical. They seemed to get just enough of the body or stick so a clean play could not be made. They capitalized on the scoring chances too. Greenway got back into the g...

Greenway couldn't hit the net tonight. They struggled all night. Their best defensemen did not suit-up due to disciplinary reasons. Penalties are still a problem. They controlled the puck for almost the entire 3rd period but just couldn't finish the play. I will give them credit for battling through...

The time frame given for Troumbly is 12 weeks. Bad jagged break that require surgery. He and Lantz worked so well together that Greenway plays at a different level when those two are on the ice. Against the quality teams they make the difference between winning versus just competing. I can't blame t...

Greenway is not a top 10 team without him. The kid could put the puck in the net. They sure could have used him last night. Lot of scoring opportunities but couldn't finish. Alex never gave up and dominated the OT.

Scheduling note for Greenway. Greenway has added Rosemount for a game on Thursday (Bismarck backed out) and added Little Falls as a result of the games cancelled with Breck/Rochester Lourdes because of the weather.

As usual I can't find much to disagree with in your analysis. A Greenway win against Alexandria tonight will pretty much sew up the #2 seed. Goaltender Anick has shown to be a solid goaltender and made some great saves against Hibbing the other night. Hibbing's powerplay is impressive. My concerns w...

That was two years ago (pre-Clafton) that Greenway had major penalty problems. Some re-occurence of it this year, but I'm confident Clafton will take care of that. The major taken last night was questionable from my point of view. Maybe an interference penalty. It was called "checking from behind on...

The Hibbing/Greenway game did not go into overtime. Greenway outshot Hibbing 40-28. Hibbing's two goals came on a 5 minute powerplay. Greenway was without Grant Troumbly who sustained a foot injury in practice. Exciting, physical game. Hibbing's powerplay is impressive.

If it ever came to a coop, Johnson would more likely go with North St. Paul as they already coop with them at the youth level.

Always enjoy your analysis as it is right on the mark. The big question with Greenway is their goaltending. Their JV goalie has played well at times but moving to varsity is a whole different world. Bringing in the bantam goalie is always iffy. Sophomores can be surprising or just overwhelmed. If Gr...

The only point I would add is one I've made before. The bigget losers in Plante's decision to stay in A are the players and the community. Why would you deny them the unbelievable experience of being on the main stage of the greatest high school tournament in the nation? You are also teaching player...

As usual, ranier is right on the money with his analysis. Greenway will be competitive in Class A for the next three years, but the PeeWee age group of last year was really bad. So they will go through a rough couple of years. Virginia has experienced average teams the last few years and will be on ...

Greenway's chances of beating Hermantown are slim at best. The game will most likely be in running time if they meet. Greenway will have a top 10 Class A team but that means little when you are going up against a team that is top 5 in the state.

He comes from a family of great coaches. This will add a little extra to the Hibbing/Greenway games this year. They were going to be a lot of fun anyway this only increases it. Expect evenly played one goal games this year with Hibbing still a little better than Greenway. Perunovich owns Greenway.
