That was indeed a great group at Jefferson but I'm not convinced it is the highest number of D1 guys. The 76-77 Edina east team had at least 10, and I believe it was even more. Off the top of my head Pepper Pearson Bjerken Hampson Hampson Terwilliger Donnelly Brown Kelly I realize this just 9 but I ...

0ver the past 5 years the number of kids who played youth hockey in Lakeville and have moved on to d1 rivals most any community other than edina. The association must be doing something right.

It was my understanding that SSM was outside the boundaries of the MSHSL, I guess they'll just have to play the hardship card.

Furthermore its my understanding that lakeville students can change schools most anytime even after their freshmen year, their athletic eligibility is determined outside of the districts authority and the result would be the one year penalty at the varsity level.

If that's the case how do you explain Enebek's presence at North? As long as a lakeville student makes the change as a ninth grader they can attend either school. I've been a member of the community for over ten years and not once have I heard of anyone being denied the choice. SSM is NOT part of th...

Lakeville has an open enrollment policy intradistrict, since Edquist has not been part of an MSHSL school I'd assume he's free to enroll almost anywhere he wants. Hell, south is just a feeder program for north anyway isn't it? Got to believe there are some north parents less than pleased that their ...

Best ever? cart meet horse! they have some talent but I just can't see them in the same light as some of the great Jefferson or Edina teams...or EP for that matter.

Like most of us I have no firsthand knowledge specific to Jakes situation. That being said it's beyond my ability to comprehend why a parent would or could force a kid to leave high school hockey. It's hard enough for these young men to sort through all the outside advise they are getting much less ...

I hope he makes it, I truly do but have you met the kid? He is about as slender as you'll ever see a contact sport athlete be. Like I said, I love this kids upside but give him time. He's a 95 so per the CHL rules he can't play in the A, unless he sticks with the Blues he's got 2 years left in Medic...

Unless Medicine hat can put 30 or 40 pounds on the kid in short order I'm skeptical Tommy will only take 2 years to develop. The contract is a great way for the Blues to say " we like where you are heading and you are in our future plans" Huge upside hear but far from ready to defend 225 p...

Right from the split it became apparent that for what ever reason many more south kids were bailing out compared to north. The program had a chance to really take off but instead a constant stream of STA departures kept it from happening, from there we are starting to see cross community departures ...

If both RS and JO leave south doesn't something have to give over at south?

If the AD stands by and lets it go much further the program will take years to rebuild. Can't blame North for exploiting the situation but its now bordering on comical.

For what ever reason the USHL seems to like to pin their hopes on younger players. You could say the same thing about Repensky and Horton too. All 3 could easily compete in the USHL.

Still not buying the both tiny argument, you look at one and say...ya, probably too small, could he be the same player if he added 10 pounds? You look at the other and you and are astounded that he's been able to accomplish what he has at that size. I've been a gopher fan for 40+ years and Cammy is ...

A side to this discussion that is often glossed over is the position in a players birth year, the youngest kids in their respective birth years are often over looked because they are physically behind their peers. Kloos is a year and a half older than Cammy but is considered 2 years older. As for dr...

While both are small guys to say Cammy and Kloos are basically the same size is inaccurate. Watch the way they play and who battles for pucks and gets involved physically, no comparison here. Both dynamic players but VERY different.

I'm in favor of almost anything to keep them here but the reality is there is almost no chance the MSHSL will cater to a elite group of HS hockey players. You'd almost have to start a midget program and maybe have half a dozen metro teams compete with Shattuck. No longer high school but they'd still...

The trouble with Russo's thinking here is that high school hockey will survive but it just won't be the same as what we all grew up with. Its highly unlikely that we'll see more of our top end kids stay, in fact I would argue that we are likely to see an even greater number of kids choose to move on...

You indict a kids ability and I give two examples of kids that got labeled in much the same way, nothing more...thats it...don't look to deep..let time determine if the kid can play or not.
