Re: 2023-24 season Early departures
Does "assume B and A" mean before and after? Does that mean they'll play HS and their 'other' is before and after that?

Re: 2023-24 Season Transfers
While I would prefer the transfer numbers were far less than they've become, is there insider knowledge to judge a specific transfer was the result of actual recruiting rather than say a kid/family explored another opportunity of their own doing? Nobody, I repeat nobody, sells their home and moves ...

Re: HDM 2024 in Hockeytown USA
I understand that they likely pulled the girls game opportunity from Orono, but help me understand the LVN intrigue for this game? Is there a connection or just a random metro team thought to provide a competitive contest? It might have been nothing more than availability and a willingness by poten...

I don't think they don't want to read it, I think they'd simply prefer updates be related to the sport of hockey.

From Youth Hockey Hub Twitter BHS YHH hearing the following information on section realignment for next year. New Prague and Northfield to 1AA Waconia to 2AA Two Rivers to 3AA Cambridge to 7AA Teams petitioned to go from AA to A but denied: Armstrong/Cooper, B-ville/AV, Osseo, St. Cloud Things are ...

Re: What is your favorite State Tournament Chants ??
Not a chant, but I still think one of the coolest celies I saw was when (I think) Tommy Novak of STA after scoring a goal skated towards the student section, and (obviously pre-planned) pointed to the students and "parted the Red Sea". I remember it getting some hate but i thought it was ...

Re: 23 state tournament winners
Fans complained for years that players leaving early for juniors would be the demise of HS hockey in MN. Instead the number of kids leaving has remained mostly level and we continue to see compelling state tournaments year after year. I think the same over-reaction is happening with respect to trans...

Re: 23 state tournament winners
I hate seeing the transfers in or out. I believe all of the following played at least 1 year as youths for Tonka. Not all homegrown but still: Beckett Hendrickson (F, NTDP) John Whipple (D, NTDP) Drew Stewart (F, BSM) Kam Hendrickson (G, Chan) Mikey Berchild (F, SSM) Holden Pajor (F, HF) Bryce Wiita...

Re: Class AA QF - Hill-Murray vs #1 Minnetonka
I find a bit remarkable, that EP and Tonka, two of the largest schools in the state, can't find enough high end talent inside their own borders. Not as much at EP, but look at the Tonka kids who are no longer in the program who would have been beneficial to have (just the ones I can think of off th...

Re: Class AA QF - Hill-Murray vs #1 Minnetonka
Yup, Gentry let me down. Don't think that will be the case at state. Tonka is well oiled machine of recruits. Kind of fitting they play the hill school. Can't wait til Thursday, should be an awesome tourny. Until recently, I was working with a guy who's kid was in the Tonka system until very recent...

Re: Class AA QF - Hill-Murray vs #1 Minnetonka
Feels like this is the 3rd or 4th times these teams have met in the QF and Tonka has only been to state 7 times. To be honest, I could see Tonka at state a little less and Hastings some more... HM has been there 33 times, Edina perhaps even more often, how many times has it been Moorhead, Dul...

Re: old games
I'm fairly sure that was Stauber in goal during the 88/89 season. Yes but the goalie question was for a Greenway vs. Kennedy game a few years earlier and not the Gophers in '89. I was trying to figure out if Stolp was the starting goalie or not in '89. It was definitely Stauber for the Gophers in t...

Re: 2023 Ms. Hockey Semifinalists
In the future, the High School League should probably wait until the final 20% of the season is complete before announcing the Ms. Hockey Top 10. They announced the list on Feb 10th when less than 20% of the season remained for the majority of teams at that point, and how many seasonal awards in an...

Re: 2AA and 6AA back at Mariucci?
Yeah it's interesting with the state tournament still having no problems filling seats why the 2AA/6AA finals night fell so far off. I remember being there luckily for the first game (while having more interest in the 2nd game that particular night) and it was standing room only by the time the 1st ...
