kind of sad they seem to going the way of the scouts and letting younger and younger kids play even though they haven't played a game of high school yet just because they are good within their age group and have a known name.

Any updates on what is going on with Elite League/Prep League and this new dyno league? Appears to be like kind of a mess and people are confused as to what to sign up for. Seems elite league is mainly/only OS kids. Do we know where other kids are leaning on Prep league vs dyno? What is MN Hockey's ...

A commitment is not binding. I would be very hesitant to allow my 8th grade Johnny to make a college commitment. There is pressure on coaches to find the next superstar. And so it is to their advantage to make early commitments. The problem is, many 8th grade superstars don't turn out to be college/...

These early commitments seem a little crazy. Just heard from coaches on the girls side last weekend say that a lot of times these early commitments don't work out because the kids stops pushing themselves to get better and sometimes don't focus on grades.

So it is unclear from the article. It says it goes into effect for the 2018-19 school year. I had heard it went into effect immediately. Do we know the exact start date?

Well that throws a monkey wrench into our summer plans. Seems unreasonable that the cut off is in September of one's junior year for unofficial visits. After the school year of their sophomore year would seem more reasonable and allow families to visit campuses in the summer without having to miss s...

I am afraid with the winner this year we are going to see the same thing on the girls side. But maybe that was the point. Seems like sponsors have taken over.

Koeppl will likely draw from the old Bloomington Jefferson crowd which is currently skating at EP and are 10's and 12's. It will be a big hit to the EP program.

My issue with HP is the inequity between districts. Think of next year's Section 6. Will be hard to only pick 20 girls. High level talent could be left behind that could probably make the top 54.

The D6 U14 Laker Team is a product of the new Tier I system in MN. All the girls are 03 or 02 birth years. Each MN district had tryouts to make a Tier I team to represent their district. The district teams then played a short season last fall and had a playoff. The winner of the playoff represented ...
