Re: Under the heading... ONLY IN EDINA

A buddy of mine called me the other day and told me a story about an Edina B Squirt team that, after advancing to the Championship game on Sat., had tournament T-shirts made for the whole team. It said "Champions" on them. Then came Sunday and the "Championship Game". They of co...

Re: Still

Stillwater will dominate D2, no question. We recruited in 4 Russians, 2 Canadians and 1 Floridian on "exchange" programs for middle schoolers. Little Helga only knows a few english words "I score dee goal"...it's so cute... Just kidding...we're returning 3 players from our 12A, ...

Our association is down about 75 kids (traveling),
this year. We are normally around 400 kids, so not
enormously big of an association.

Absouletly floored by this team. I've been watching this team for
the past 3 years. All I can say is OUTSTANDING! Good for them.
It's a big accomplishment to get to the Tourney, no matter what
your record is. Congrats!!! :D

I was at St. Thomas last week and saw some good goaltending. SSP goalie did a good job getting them back into the tourney. She made some key stops against TG. The only other note was the performance of the Mahtomedi goalie in the semi's. 40+ saves. A highly overmatched game and she kept them in it. ...

DYNAMITE game. Could've actually went either way. Blake is pretty darn good. I'm guessing class A state champs, but Maht. was right there with them the whole game. They just didn't quite have the firepower as Blake.

Blake will have no easy road getting to the championship game. I believe they would have to go through Hibbing and Alexandria. Never a sure thing, but if you haven't seen them play I think you will be surprised at how good they are. Their first line is very hard to stop for any team. I saw them pla...

131 shots or whatever it was is a little out of hand. Ok maybe, alot out of hand. But when you have a team winning soundly, and playing their third and forth lines, I can guaranty you, that that fourth line is going 100%. Maybe harder. I had the opportunity to be on that fourth line as a freshman. A...

Not to change the subject, but this kind of fits the spirit of the thread. Last night in the Roseville-CDH game there was an honest-to-goodness fight. Two different twosomes paired off and many punches were thrown (gloves on). Apparently it started with a slash at the goalie, since CDH got an extra...

Something I noticed about Laura May of Mahtomedi is that she plays both ends of the ice, and even though she can out skate most of her team mates for a breakaway everytime she touches the puck she brings the puck up with her line and they get 2 or three shots on goal rather than just the one she wo...

Kilpatrick is a nice player, I saw her a couple of times this season, and without question, she is talented. She does have the advantage of playing a somewhat softer schedule, (points wise), but has shown that she is a "player" against the big teams. In fairness, I've seen better this yea...
