Don't think for a minute that if EGF wins another 2 titles in the next 6 years that people won't be crying for them to challenge themselves. I remember similar cries about Warroad when they were rattling off tourney appearance after appearance. "Why can't you get some guts & be like Roseau...

I apologize LDC, you guys are much better than I expected.

The Dragons don't have a ton of skill, but they are playing aggressive and physical and taking advantage of the turnovers they are creating. Nice.

Well, Hawks score as I was writing this. I take it all back LDC. :D

Yep. Tried it several times when they played Hibbing. I imagine its a big part of their offense.

My hope is they win A this year and next (they can't move up till 2018 season), then dip their feet into the AA level. If Plante does retire, there will be some pretty big shoes to fill. Don't underestimate what he has done for Hermantown's success. He loves his boys and gets the best out of most o...

Class A is supposed to be for smaller schools that use their own kids. That's what EGF was and nobody ever called for them to move up. Obviously the hockey is not going to be the same as the AA side. That's how it is in every sport. If Hermantown and Breck stay in A then you might as well just go b...

Not to super defend Breck, but they haven't won a title since '10. Also, they missed the tournament completely in '14 & spent '11 & last year at Mariucci. Plus with the enrollment #'s what they are, they really are more of a Class A team. Could they play up & compete well? Yeah, probabl...

I know Hermantown takes a ton of heat for not moving up to AA. What about Breck? Their coach ever said anything on why they haven't/won't move up? Their coach has also used the excuse that they are a small school/small program. Breck has taken plenty of heat for not moving up, but I think Hermantow...

Those of you who haven't seen Hermantown play have no idea how good they are. Fast, physical, deep, great passing and with good goaltending. If this doesn't go into running time I'll be shocked. Hibbing or Greenway would probably beat LDC by more than one goal, there is no chance of LDC staying wit...

Yep, let's hear it for those blue collar kids at EP, Wayzata, and Stillwater. Skated on frozen ponds until they were pee wees. Skated on the same line for years, because no one moved into or out of the district. they couldn't benefit from numerous hockey camps, elite leagues, skating lessons, etc. ...

And, maybe as I and others have said before, maybe section 7 wasn't as strong as people would like to have believed. Hermantown blew out Hibbing in their first matchup, and then again in sections. They also blew out Greenway in sections - who did play them close for one game during the regular seas...

Jan 5:Hermantown's Hawks 5, T-Hawks 0. There is your answer!! You claim the Hawks were playing terrible and got beat by a fluke goal against Bemidji. Every team has games during the season when they don't play their best. Rapids hadn't settled on a goalie or their current lines when they played the...

And now they look at the teams in the AA tourney and say "Wait a minute, we already beat Rapids and Wayzata, we would destroy Anoka and Burnsville, we would have beaten Farmington had the game not been canceled, our schedule is harder than Stillwater's yet our records are almost the same, we l...

Top 2-3 players from each association? What a bunch of bs. Your two best defenseman live in the Proctor school district and your 3rd best d-man moved to Hermantown when he was 16. Jan 5:Hermantown's Hawks 5, T-Hawks 0. There is your answer!! I think this does bring up an interesting point: Being good enough in AA is now a reality for Hermantown, thanks to Rapids' win over East. For the last seven years when East was owning 7AA, Hermantown fans could always say "Sure, we...

Bemidji and Wayzata common opponents: Hill-Murray- Bemidji wins 6-2, Wayzata loses 7-1 Hermantown- Bemidji wins 4-2, Wayzata loses 5-3 Grand Rapids- Wayzata wins 3-2, Bemidji ties 1-1 I gotta think Bemidji gets seeded ahead of Wayzata. Wayzata also beat Hill-Murray 2-0. I stand corrected. Wayzata h...
