Yea a few bad apples shouldn't spoil it but you know what they do! As far as we are in Rapids we are in Rapids I do believe that. Yes everything should be earned but I know as well as every hockey player in the past anywhere knows, it is not always earned its who you know and your last name. You sh...

In case anyone would like to hear some actual attempt at reporting, rather than made-up tom foolery... I talked to Trent yesterday afternoon. I simply said - are you returning as head coach at Grand Rapids? His response... "No." I'm not saying he couldn't return. Who the heck knows. But the notion ...

I will add that GR went to state 9 times from '72-'81 and won 3 titles- 2 runnerups- 2 3rd place- and 2 consolations. They did that with Gus Hendrickson- Jim Nelson- Buzzy Christiansen-and back to Jim Nelson. Point being that coaching changes don't automatically mean no success on the ice. If you h...

Really is a mystery as to who is even possible as a replacement given all the names that are known to not be interested. I was just talking to a hockey guy. He told me there's a chance Klatt is in the process of possibly coming back to coach the orange. Is that even possible? Rumors out there, noth...

Good luck to whoever takes that job. They are going to need it. Three good guys in the last five years have quit. What's the cause; rabid parents ? The town of Grand Rapids has high, high expectations every single year. With these expectations comes a lot of stuff. That town is like no other in the...

It would be nice to see some of the coaches that the game has passed by retire and give some other aspiring coaches a chance. That is intriguing. Any "pass their time" coaches you have in mind, and who you think might be ready for "prime-time"? Curious who people think should be on either list. Whi...

I don't know the exact figures every game , but I heard that Grand Rapids had regular season crowds approaching 3000 at home against Duluth East and also away at Hibbing. As far as I know, the biggest regular season non tournament attendance in the metro this year was 1900 for Stillwater at Hill Mu...

There is no way he was asked to resigned based on kids drinking. It is more likely he was asked to resigned because of the medal fiasco than the kids drinking. I get that the kids broke the rules, but to get rid of a coach because kids are being kids and celebrating a successful season is beyond ri...

Hibbing? How long has the coach from last year been there? They've got some serious talent on the ice too.

And I saw coach Klatt at the all-star festivities in great spirits. Must have been a recent and sudden decision. Coach was so engaged at that game having a blast. Wow

Not at Grand Rapids. I stayed in Grand Rapids for last weekend hotel ling it to stay and cover Cloq...

What about #3 Dalton Johnson for CEC? I know i'm not closest to being the smartest guy in the room when it comes to hockey....and a big fan of CEC hockey. I just thought I would throw his name in there, because I think he's very good (actually exceptional) . Very good player. We'll see how the off-...

I don't think anyone knows how stacked Tonka is next Year. They will have bantam and JV players that could play for any varsity team in the state they're going on a 4 year stretch here where they will be serious favorites. Don't care who may or may not head to Shattuck. It seems like the Skippers a...
