Re: Elk River senior F Jack Perbix commits to Gophers (former ND commit)

Any chance at all this changes Jack's decision this year? Older brother Nick was recruited by Motzko and played his Sr. season for the Elks. Nope, he is officially gone: "Perbix to forgo his senior season with Elk River" By Jake Andersen Sports Reporter * Jack Perbix is forgoing his senior season w...

Okay, I'll take a guess: Is this in regards to the moratorium on hockey academies?

Re: Is Greenway turning into Hermantown?

Former Greenway family moved back with their son who plays hockey. Moved from Elk River where he was a bantam. Just for clarity - I don't believe this was a "hockey" move. Mom and Dad had an opportunity to get back to their hometown. That said, the kid was a Bantam AA player last year and should ad...

I have no idea if that was my source. I never wish any program have their kids leave early. My source says squirt level look nice at Elk. You can’t have the most talent each year.....even if your Elk. And then even when you do....the program still can’t get by 218 puck. Elks only hope is to be remo...

STMA hockey is going to be huge, or is huge already. The next "superpower" in AA Minnesota State High School Hockey. We thought that about Farmington a few years ago as well. Not saying it never happens ( look at Elk River ), but the exurbs seem to have a much harder time sustaining success than th...

I truly can't believe those kids are "older" than what the documents show. If that was true, Minnesota hockey would have done something by now. Only if someone filed a grievance with Minnesota Hockey and had some proof that the birth certs were falsified. Otherwise, all MN Hockey cares about is tha...

In a ten year span these two programs had 8 of 10 state championships. The two years they missed they had second place covered. This is question 12. This seems like it should be Int'l Falls and Roseau from '57-'66, except that in '60 Duluth East won it and St. Paul Washington took 2nd. In a ten yea...

Until they have exhausted all the other non-metro and metro host candidates and start the rotation over again. Except Baudette Bay would be skipped at the beginning of the second rotation since they already hosted twice. ;P

Re: Osseo/Maple Grove - What Happens at High School

On a side note, I don’t know what the heck is going on with Rogers. The high school team fell off the map in a hurry, and they aren’t even fielding a Bantam AA team this year. The PeeWee AA team is doing well, so hopefully that is a good sign for the future. Their squirt teams at the A, B1 and B2 l...

My issue with extending the periods 3 minutes is you're really only talking about adding 3 or 4 shifts per kid per game I don't see that changing the thought process of why kids are opting out of HS hockey. Now add 10 games and you may have peoples attention Agree. That's why I think the extended g...
