Re: National festival roster

What 02 parents? most of the girls you mentioned are 01's. That team is loaded with 02 forwards that are not going to lose a spot to anyone no matter where their from. if JJ was in their ear don't you think some of the girls you mentioned would be on the squad since they are from MN? The only sense ...

False MNSTAR. The MN girls are on the Elite league teams and the ones who are not play for Shattuck. People seem to be sour with the picks every year but they keep winning. I was sour 2 years ago but they won and then won again so I realized maybe there's more to it than just throwing darts at a boa...

I don't think it's necessarily a shame but rather an important life lesson. That particular program is constantly in competition with each other to see who can spend more money on their kid to make them better. The result is that they do churn out more quality players than most because the money and...

Many good points j421. I posted those 2 teams as the favorites heading in. You are correct many things can happen, some players choke, some coaches choke. I want to highlight one point though. You say Edina has players that might star on other A teams, Factually they have 2nd and 3rd liners that wou...

Too early to predict?

Is it too early to predict a Edina vs Andover possible final? There is also Blake but??? not as many powerhouses as years past.

Never underestimate the Private Power. The only thing better than money is more money :D . By the way are you sure Andover can get by Flake. They are awfully good in that section. As far as OS Prospects are concerned I heard one prospect team was a bit more stacked than the others?? or did they all ...

He knows his niche that's for sure. The only way to know how the Gentry gals are improving is to have a girl on the team. That way you can follow the progress from start to finish. I don't think you one could delineate performance of the team or individuals by casually catching a few games (Gentry)....

Looks like Gentry coach is plucking as many girls possible from his original OS squad from a few years ago. If you're a HS coach and you have one of those girls on your team currently, Look out

Yes on all your points. In full disclosure I mentioned the 30k figure for Ivy's because that seems to be where most end up after grants. (middle class families) however if you have the money and you are a good but not great D1 player you will most likely be paying the 70 :x . One other Note to keep ...

Two thoughts. USA has surpassed Canada with regard to development for the last several years now up to and including the U-18 level. This has been done with great help from Minnesota girls. I would say most Minnesota girls who compete at a high level have played against girls a year older or more th...

every team has different needs from different classes. One team might need to fill 7 19' spots while another might only need a couple for the same class. I believe Wisconsin needed to fill only 3 19' spots and on the flip side of that they need to fill 8 20' spots. Odds are if they only need 3 they'...

Could be a matter of do you trust the process of your High School development? Are you having fun with your High School teammates? Good coaches? Jealous parents? These may be some but not all reasons for a kid and their parents to decide NTDP over staying put.

Take a few Edina kids. You have to, they have talent. I don't think it's a good idea to take 10 of them though. Be sure to take the right ones if you do take a few. I also think you can take your time recruiting them, because believe it or not they want to play at the U so badly because their Dad or...

Seriously dude? First, I Hope the "Classmate" is a straight A student. Second It's probably harder to get into ASU academic wise or at least the same as 3 of the D1 hockey programs in this state and one to the North and West. No need to throw the kids name out there as a poor student from rumors of ...

On a funny note, the Gophers have a couple thousand unused seats they could sell to ASU to help build their new arena. I think it's the same color maroon

Ok, I’ll bite. If you are planning on a school like Quinnipiac or some of the other schools out East the retail price tag is about 60k per year. Most of the Hockey players at a school like that will have grants and such to help even the half ride kids. Now, on the flip side the most expensive D1 sch...

MNhockeyfan, I can assure you whats at stake is your own money, I don’t mean yours in particular but in a general sense. I guarantee if you add up what you pay for a kid to play hockey as a youth it will add up to more than a full D1 scholarship. I will say however it is a lot of fun watching the ki...

Again, all the kids mentioned I'm sure will be on NHL rosters in the near future so their names will be publicized anyway. It's what the kids learn for themselves that's important. How good or what kind of kid will they be when Mommy and Daddy aren't directing their Hockey future. If your kid is goo...

Correct gopherpuck516, however it won't be easy. As I stated earlier you will not only need administration or coaches to bring in fans by winning but you will also need some characters in the locker room. Other athletes on campus have access to hockey games if they choose to go. Some do but a lot do...

The reason for the early recruiting is the schools out East want our MN kids more than ever before. We have a lot of good hockey players here and they want to nab some of them. It's like anything else, you have to pay what others are willing to pay or you won't get it. The U does have to realize how...
