Re: Ideas that should be brought to the Minnesota Hockey Board

1) Regarding B level hockey: Recognize two levels of B, call them BB/B if you want to follow AA/A. Or, conversely, tell districts and associations to stop doing B1/B2 and only declare AA/A/B/C. 2) Regarding C level hockey: Create regional/state tourneys for Peewee and Bantam C. This might create a ...

Re: 7AA 2018-2019

What’s the pit? Edit, now I get it 😛Unfortunately ER isn’t the home team 😉 There's an outdoor rink at the ACC. That'll do. Save some gas money. He was referring to the outdoor rink in ER where they played HDM😉 But Andover needs the experience of playing at Amsoil Saturday...since DE has most likely...

I'm really interested in episode 3 and how they cover the post-hockey day health issues.

In a related thread on the HS board elliott mentioned that it did not pass but that it may come back up in a future meeting.

TG is moving to AA in 2019-2020 - 100%. Talked to one of their coaches who indicated a number of kids are coming into TG next season based on the stipulation they move up to AA (next season)
Interesting. Any insight into which programs will possibly be losing kids?

Re: Monday, 2/4 Duluth East at Cloquet

Me too...but they’ve done it before. I simply think the northern 7AA teams have went to the well enough times at this point & came out on top...that a team like this years version of Andover is due to flip that script . Yes, like the Elks in '10....oops I meant Elks in '15, that was their year....

Re: Monday, 2/4 Duluth East at Cloquet

Everything you said about DE being tough at home in the playoffs is true & they very well may win 7AA in the end. But Andover is REALLY GOOD...so we shall see 😉 Not to mention that Duluth's arenas in the section playoffs aren't in Andover's head. Like some teams.  I would con...

My mind went straight to a combo that was more of a Marv Levy/Jim Kelly combination: Doug Woog/Phil Housley

Re: The Hermantown Thread

I guess there are buses leaving early and fanning out throughout the area every morning to pick up only good hockey players. They looked really hard and found 34 players to try out this year. I hear they somehow have this huge metropolitan area of 150000 people to choose from. Elk River had 36 kids...

Re: Minnesota Hockey cut-off dates

There were some comments that led me to believe that this may come up again, perhaps at the June meting. Out of curiosity, are there MN Hockey Board members that have June born kids? Board priorities and topics, at any level (local, state, etc.), are often influenced by board members that have a do...

They should.
I will put this on the district director agenda.

Sent email to add it to the district director private meeting agenda.
We will see what happens there.
Thank you! And again, thanks for your time and dedication to this great sport and the kids in MN that play it!

Re: Minnesota Hockey cut-off dates

This. If the date is going to move, match the school grade date. It is the only logical date for a community based league that feeds into a high school league . I'm not sure how anybody could argue against that. This is one of the easy ones Elliott. Don't let them screw it up. So what date is that?...

Re: Minnesota Hockey cut-off dates

Here's another question I would have: If MN Hockey is considering this in order to benefit the June born kids, what does MN Hockey have against the May born kids. Why would you want to put those kids at even more of a disadvantage than they currently have? Does MN Hockey like June kids more than the...

Re: The Hermantown Thread

The problem with hockey is that school enrollment does not mean much. The quality of the youth program is the most determining factor (and ability to keep kids in your program/high school) that really matters. Absolutely. Enrollment only matters to those very few that are trying to hide behind it. ...

The 2017 ER team was totally in control against GR midway thru the 3rd period, until an ill timed penalty and a shot that was going wide, but the goalie played it & it deflected in off him...THEN the dam broke and they were defeated by a team of “destiny”. In 2015 though...ER was up 3-0 midway ...
