I followed up asking why not the 18th. "The restaurants on the two blocks pay for it and they have been celebrating St. Pat’s for a number of years They have the historical data to back up the importance of having it the Saturday before the actual St. Pat’s Day. Once the actual day passes, the ...

Got a response from them: "Thank you for your email concerning the busy March 11 that is coming in 2017. As organizer of the LuckyPalooza event, I wanted to respond in a timely manner. You are correct, the LuckyPalooza St. Patrick’s Day kickoff event and the MSHSL Hockey Championship both fall ...

Sounds like the bars are going to be a disaster to get a seat at, even more so than they already are for the Tourney. Yuck. I wouldn't even try on Saturday. Those bars are packed wall to wall with people during Lucky Palooza when the tourney isn't happening at the same time. It will be a circus ove...

State championship during Lucky Palooza?

I just realized that the state championship will be played on the same night as Lucky Palooza, the St. Paddy's Day drunk fest where West 7th street is entirely blocked off with thousands of people.

Does anyone else think this will be a total disaster?

Like this thread. My instincts are similar (the word best is a sticky wicket...is it "right now" or 2-3 years down the line?)... 1. Anderson 2. Leivermann 3. Stucker 4. Samberg After those four its kind of a toss up Here are a few not on your list that I like: Benton Maass (ER), John Stam...

Best defenseman in the state

Best forward isn't really up for debate but there doesn't seem to be a consensus on the back end this year. I think many expected Matt Anderson to be the top D-man but he's had a pretty tough season. I think the short list is: Matt Anderson Grant Anderson Dylan Samberg Nick Perbix Nicky Leivermann J...

Re: Braemar not reporting stats

It's be nice if the statistician (new last year) would start reporting stats since few can get to every game. Until then perhaps those at the game could report to the board. As for the Farmington game: Edina goals: 1. Walker from Scheerer and Jake Boltmann 2. Brinkman from Scheerer and Walker 3. Cr...

I will be interested to see if Rapids can return next year. They don't appear to lose a ton, and if McLaughlin is as good as people say, I think he makes up for whatever loss Mattson is considered. miller was the best Rapids forward in the first two games, and it wasn't even that close. Mattson, Ad...

Johnson looked fantastic today, which I expected, but Bushy really caught me off guard. He's quite the player.

Johnson does a lot of cherry picking and rarely backchecks or passes, but I would assume that's what he's being told to do.

White Bear had a really rough four minute stretch in the middle of the second period but other than that it was fairly even.

The Bears just had no offensive firepower this year and it killed them again tonight.

I think it's pretty bewildering how much people take the Hub for granted. There aren't many, if any, sites in the entire country who do what they do.

That's a pretty good list. I might sub in Jackson Cates for Jette Cates was the last guy I left off, and I did so because he's being outscored by his younger brother.
