Rumor has it that Willmar's Finnish goalie didn't even stay in town to complete the school year last year. Something doesn't quite add up on that educational venture. The real question is if he was so wild about coming to the states to play MN high school hockey, why did he end up in the hockey hot...

Per KQ92's Facebook Post: Lake Country KQ92 Breaking: Warroad hires Steve Haataja as its new boys hockey coach. Haataja previously coached in the Dassel-Cokato school system. The Warroad School Board approved the hiring tonight at their board meeting. Haataja played defense for a season at St. Coul...

One thing to keep in mind is that they still have Bruce Olson who was coaching the JV team this year. He has had a successful coaching career including a AA championship when he was in Roseau and I think he was two time coach of the year. He won it at least once for sure. They can just keep him as ...

I believe they are referring to the solid youth teams coming up soon. Nice to see you have the intelligence to figure that out. Solid youth programs doesn't neccessarily correlate to success at the next level. He said they may be becoming the Hermantown of the west. Let's wait and see before we cro...

Great timing, as it appears East Grand Forks is on the cusp of a huge run. I'm seeing multiple players of theirs on almost every all star roster. Are they becoming Hermantown of the west? What has EGF done to be grouped in with Hermantown? Let's be serious. They've been in the section final once si...

Missing those that know: north Dakota, Michigan, UMD, notre dame  Cary Eades from North Dakota has been there both days. UMD had an assistant at the rink yesterday and Scott Sandelin there today. I think we have now confirmed how connected and knowledgeable Getemupscout actually is.... Maybe ...

Tell us, what one of the MIAC schools cut your kid? It was The University of Northland. They cut my little Georgie  Come on people. I've seen dozens of Concordia and St. Scholastica games. I know what I'm talking about. I know dozens of guys I grew up playing against who give it one or two yea...

D3 hockey is joke, sorry. A bunch of 24 year-old goons running guys in front of 75 fans. Meanwhile the kids are forking out 20+ grand a year for an education they could get at a University. Tell us, what one of the MIAC schools cut your kid? They didn't even need to cut him...they just told him don...

WOW every game so close. you would think 03-05 warroad could have put up a big score or trf could have in 06. TRF was a top five team in 2003 and it was a pretty tight matchup. They split during the regular season. A controversial no goal was called against TRF that swung the game into Warroad's fa...

Whos going to score for warroad? They have NO ONE that can score? TRF will fill the net The question is who will score for TRF? Warroad's Top 3 Leading Scorers N. Stoskopf 14 G, 16 A, 30 Pts C. Gray 6 G, 23 A, 29 Pts D. Nelson 18 G, 11 A, 29 Pts so 38 goals for 88 pts out of their top 3 scorers.......

Convenient, but not true. The only reason it's an old subject is because they've been doing it since the '70s, at least on the boys side. The best way to end the discussion is to admit it and move on. MSHSL doesn't seem to mind, and that's really all that matters. 8) Oh if they admitted to it them ...

I would agree with you that systems and philosophies do make a difference. To a point of course. I just have to laugh at any accusation of recruiting. Seems most are guilty until proven innocent. At least around here.[/quote The coaching is decent, they do a good job. I will not argue that. ...

1. Warroad - Looks like the early December swoon was just a bump in the road, establishing control going into the homestretch 2. TRF - Nipping at Warroad's heels, probably have been the most consistent of the 8A teams this season 3. Crookston - Probably the 8A Cinderella this year, worked hard to g...

Whats a non-hockey simpleton? I will say that last call was bad. But I think they still had the option of killing the penalty. Or did the refs put the puck in the net? what we have learned is that Roso is the best. Warroad cheats. Why can the fine people of Roso not realize that in the last 20 year...

I agree that Park Rapids is probably going to win the section this year. Good for them! ](*,) Hope everyone is having a wonderful winter, stay warm and catch the eyes! Are you actually serious? Yes, he is. But then, I think he is from Nevis. And that would explain it. He must be dreaming of course,...
