I think Tonka wins. They only lose in 6AA IMO if they beat themselves..EP, Wayzata and BSM all are quality clubs but if they all play their best - not as good as 'Trucks'..

I think Rapids could win tomorrow. If they played a best of 7 no question East wins that. But in a one game setting, rivalry type game, and with what sounds like East missing some top players - who knows. I still feel GR is a quality team. From a coaching standpoint the GR coach will have no problem...

I think it's important to remember scouting is an inexact science! Ask 10 different teams about a guy and you may get 10 different opinions! I think the guys on the list are all fine players but it is way too early to tell if they have the goods to play in the show!

I find it impressive that DE can hold Tonka and MG to 3 goals combined with a top D out of the lineup, both games away from Duluth. That's a lot of ice time to fill on the back end and forces some of those guys to play more meaningful minutes against those top clubs. To do this and not hurt the team...

I don't think venue is that big a deal as East is like the Globetrotters of HS hockey, they travel all over every year for games...and they have a good number of guys who have been on the big stage before..two excellent clubs, should be much fun..I like East by 1.

Agree with many of the things people have posted. One thing that is different with G than F/D are teams will bring in multiple D and F recruits most every year, but 1 G....or some years no goalie, depending on what they have on the roster at that time. That is why I think a lot of coaches have to se...
They did pick things up in the third period, however. Maple Grove is definitely the better team and they proved themselves tonight. Who deserves the #2 spot? Maple Grove, Minnetonka, or Eagan?
All 3 teams mentioned above could win state in my opinion - as they e...

I think ultimately there are some stat benchmarks people look at - for all positions. As a coach I would think they simply want a G who consistently makes the saves they are supposed to make, and if they can make the other ones, you may have a special one. I don't think HS is a good indicator for a ...

Was impressed with MG tonight. Them and DE are both very good at making a nice first pass to a guy with speed in the neutral zone. Lots of teams just throw it up the wall to a guy standing still. MG was able to enter the zone with speed often tonight and it was fun to watch. If they continue to get ...

I think it will be an awesome game. Say what you want about Randolph, I know he has his detractors - but the man has helped make that program an elite program, and kept it there - and that is not easy to do. I think in HS hockey goaltending is such an unknown variable...not many just 'stud' goalies ...

I know little about the LV situation, but I am personally sick and tired of the Section 1 AA team being one that has realisticially little chance to do anything at state unless they get an amazing performance by a G who can steal a game. Not saying LS is a great club, as I think they are definitely ...

I don't think there is any way MG doesn't go this year - as it stands now. Of course injuries, etc. could change that but I think they will use past year(s) to motivate them and make sure the finish the deal.

Gross is definitely on his way to being a kid who will be able to play at a high level for a long time if he continues his ascension...but Brodzinski I think will be fine. He has a lot to offer from what I've seen over the games I've watched...and he'll get better..

Bottom lime both of these clubc are state tourney caliber and I would not be shocked to see both make it - although both have tough sections.

I agree somewhat too about G for BSM - can their G win a game for them against a top end team if they need it?

That behind the net PP exchange play is called the 'deuce'. I believe BV has a few guys in their youth and hs coaching staffs from Augsburg College - learned that play there.
Burnsville's special teams and coach should be commended for their performance last night. I have w...
