Let me ask this to my 7 AA friends, How do you think the coaches would vote if it was still done the old way?

Congrats to CEC!

One of the best hockey games of the year anywhere!

And section 7 hockey is the best!

Thanks to Kniven for the YouTube Hilites!

Heritage said 1200 attendance, looked like more than that. Wonder if any in line were turned away?

Danny, You probably picked the best Pioneer stretch, in the 80s, including a perfect undefeated season which I recall took a decade to match by the Jags, right? If you define dynasty for lasting consistency , relevance and upper rankings, and state tourney appearances , I agree Hill would probably b...

Good perspective Goose!

I have every confidence both teams will be back to the X before you know it!

Elliott, please give us the names of the next two Bemidji goalies in a long line of them who are top five in the state? What secret ingredient do you put in the goalie camp water up there?

Consider that the 2010 Minnetonka team was so deep and talented that then sophomore Steve Johnson, current gopher senior, did not show up rostered on the State tournament team , which went on to that great multi OT semi final game against , guess who , Hill Murray. One of the all time thrillers.

Great show , the dynasty segment triggered a lot of memories going all the way back to the 60s Hill Murray is almost a past and continuing “dynasty” with its own unique definition. Great staying power.....theyve been relevant at the top of the section and upper ranked state level pretty consistently...

Interesting game tonight between Bemidji and Grand Rapids, with Fitzgerald and Holum being two of the top goalies in the state, in fact could make a case that they ARE the two best goalies in the state

Nice job as usual, and everything makes sense to me.

Consistent with start of the seasons thinking, Hounds and Hornets will battle it out.

Anyone at the Marshall win over STA who could provide comments?

I noticed neither Grannis nor Stauber had goals, although had assists.

Potential repeat team, for sure.

They might have had a tough time with the 2018 Edina team, but with some puck luck here and there you never know...

But the "what ifs" will drive a person nuts, time to luck forward to when the next great GR team will emerge.

Have been following the Machine since my Hounds high school days in the late 60s. (What I remember most is a lot of cold bus rides up, losing, and then cold rides back. Same memories for Hibbing) Lots of up and down cycles since, way more ups than downs, which very few programs can claim. The great ...

Andover wins 2-0. Fritsinger shutout against potent Couger offense. When I checked stats last Sunday, Frits was in the top five AA save percentage I think. 7AA drama ahead.

Excellent commentary on the STA/CDH game Karl! IMHO one of the best hockey games of the season. Yes, Kelly is going to give Holum and Fitzgerald a run for their money. Why the MSHSL split up the sections on this long time east side rivalry I will never know. Just didnt make sense. It wasnt as if the...

Things have gone a bit off topic? Anyway, im reiterating my preseason prediction that Hounds and Hornets will meet in the championship game in St. Paul, a long overdue rematch of the 1997 championship game where Edina won 1-0 on a goal by Dan Carlson, I was at that one. When Deast came down to play ...

Just listened to the Mr. hockey segment of the show so far, I agree on eight of the 10. But I would go with Almquist instead of Kuomo, and for the 10th would say that Matsui is just as likely as Christy

Excellent work as usual. Hard to disagree with anything!

I nominate the following as the best phrase of the season, by any hockey writer in any venue!

"STMA, St. Cloud, and Roseau are trapped in a transitive property loop of death in the battle for the 3-seed.....",
