That makes a lot of sense, if you don't think about it.
Or, it makes no sense, if you do think about it.

Possibly, but stated a bit too matter of fact. Very much open for debate.

He is out for this season, and maybe for good. Suffered a concussion in the fall and I think also had one last year.

It certainly would be skirting the rules if he tried out while ineligible, and was placed on a roster while ineligible. Not if he was determined to be ineligible AFTER he tried out and initially placed on the roster. Lots of "ifs" in this story and we shouldn't jump to conclusions until a...

I'm confused. If he's not on the varsity roster how is that skirting the rules? :? Note the use of the word "if" in my post. Obviously, something happened in the timeline between Whopper2 stating he would "fill the gap" at D for the Hornets, to him being on the published varsity...

Weird, since there are some transfer moves elsewhere this year that are much more gray than this one. If doesn't get resolved, suspect JM will go back to Omaha rather than play JV I'm not sure we know how gray this one is or isn't. If the family claimed to have moved and then didn't, but rented an ...

Rich Clarke wrote:Mickelson is now no. 12 on the JV while Jack Foley has moved up to varsity. Is this about eliminating any eligibility concerns before he plays a varsity game, or is he only the 6th or 7th best defenseman available to Edina this year?
Maybe Whopper2 can let us in on the secret.

Or rents an apartment in the desired community and uses that address to establish eligibility. Can't just move and transfer back after you already started at the new school. Would have to sit our a year. On the contrary, I believe that if the family actually moves (changes residence) the kid is eli...

Statements like this are why the best kids (and parents) are running away from MN HS hockey!! Sickening..... Spoken like a true JV parent...you are delusional. Bellows (like him or his family or not) is a world class player and a HUGE loss. Zuhlsdorf as well. Lucky for Edina, they are deep with talent. Best of luck to both kids! Sometimes you're better off without even the best "world class" pla...

disciplined team hockey For years Edina has probably been the least disciplined youth association and high school team in the metro. Taking undisciplined penalties (dumb or not worth the risk) has been their problem for years. Teams know that and it's often the way to beat them (watch them beat the...

These ^ types are collapsing the recruiting hotbed that we had here. It's because the kids are leaving. They're now leaving as 15/16 year olds and trying to still be the go to guy against a bunch of 20 year olds.. Taking a back seat elsewhere while they could have been building star potential here....

I see Bellows protected - will he be back..? I'm wondering that myself. I'm going to list him for now. Also, Lincoln's roster is missing. We may not know until 9/22 - the deadline for USHL teams to get down to 23 players on their protected lists. In prior years, teams had to cut down to 25 players ...
