Re: NAHL Draft

Always interesting with recent grads, USHL draftees, and decisions by younger players. NAHL is not typically a youngster league. http://nahldraft.com/ NAHL was not traditionally a "youngster league" but the Janesville Jets have changed that mentality league wide and there has been a major...

Re: Top 50 Squirts - YHH Article

That's a great list of players over at the YHH article. If the criteria is "this kid is a second-year Squirt due to his age," I think O. Moore from Irondale should be on the list. He was a difference maker on MV/I's PeeWee A team as a fifth-grader. If the criteria is "playing at the ...

When is Wisc. going to field Brick team. Must be coming. Honestly not enough quality depth in Wisconsin to field a team year in and year out.... that said I do wish the areas they've awarded charters to would have slightly broader reach. What I mean is the Chicago Jr Blackhawks for instance ...

Looks like they split with the Chicago Brick team in the Shuffle. Blades won in pool play. They then faced each other again in the championship game on Sunday with the Chicago team winning that one.

He marketed himself and played on other teams? What a novel idea 'If you're good enough they'll find you' infers that they had to go find this kid out in the corn fields. If he was noticed at a prospects camp where parents pay to have him play in front of scouts, but in the winter he went back to M...

These kids are in Mn. Not Kentucky/Chech. If anything baseball players in Mn get missed. And again, At a certain point mom and dad can't just write a check. You are probably correct but I still think jpiehls general point is correct and that not everyone lives in MN. I think my example of kids gett...

District 2 coach told kids same thing at HP Mon. night. These are the District "allstar teams that Bo talked about years ago. [ Where was Bo's cystal ball when I was filling out my hoops bracket ?] I somewhat loosely predicted this a year ago too - see below. Though I included Squirt, U10, PW,...

These teams will be the real AAA teams many have been calling for since the days of the Fire. This should give the kid from Pine city or Worthingtion or Blackduck the chance to play vs kids from Edina/EP/Tonka. Seems like a win-win to me. Great Job Mn hockey !!! Granato new Badger coach

Tony Granato has been tabbed as the new men's head coach for the Wisconsin Badgers. While I think this is an excellent choice the even "bigger" news is that he has named Mark Osiecki and Don Granato as his two assistant coaches. That to me is HUGE. Don is unbelievably respected at the USNT...

Maybe..Who knows. It's a great discussion Repetition is very effective especially at a young age but I think to some degree it really only gives a lot of these kids a "head start" over the rest of the pack. At the end of the day if you are 5'7" and have perfect form going around thos...

No way JSR. Players are born with natural athletic ability. Ultimately, top player have that natural athletic ability. I can look at Squirt parents and can tell you which players have a chance to develop and which likely don't. Very few to zero made players in my opinion. It's a very subjective top...

I agree with 90% of the stuff you just said. Let's make sure you are clear though about one thing. It's tickets purchased, not actual attendance. When they announce a crowd of 9800 at the gopher game that isn't actual attendance. I would be very curious to know the average attendance this year. I g...
